Yippee! No advice other than bath 1-2 days before, dust and oil. Best of luck!

bathe with what? dust with DE? or ? oil with? and do these steps apply to chickens or just ducks? Inquiring munchkins at my house want to know.

just so you guys know if you are showing ducks~~do NOT bathe them as you would a chicken!! you will wash off their special ducky oils and their feathers will look like trash! A pen that is either raised off the ground or mud free with clean water is all they need! That and when you coop them in, wipe their bills and feetsies down with a baby wipe and then give them a polish up with vetRx..

Sometimes if my ducks have especially stubborn dirt on their feathers, I use a toothbrush to brush it off gently...

We missed the Open show at the fair this year..

but will be at the Junior one in a few weeks! woot!

It's been a sad week for many on our thread. So sorry for you.

We've been doing good. After the first egg 2.5 weeks ago, we had one day with none then at least 3 per day! We're over 50 eggs now! The EE, Ari, has laid several double-yolkers (ouch!). I cringe for her thinking about the size of the eggs from that small body.

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday- the first annual!!!

Apart from a very busy work day, DH came by work with Trophy Cupcakes & balloons in the suit he wore for our reception.
After work, we went to dinner at Dragonfish in DT Seattle. Yum! Sushi! (I wanted to bring him to Divine in Maple Leaf, but they CLOSED down. Darn them! But thats a different rant). We exchanged letters we wrote before the wedding at the recommendation from our celebrant. Very fun and excited to wait this whole year to read them.
If the first year of marriage really is the hardest, we have nothing to worry about.

Okay, that's about as sensitive as I can be.

On another note, there's been a few people who asked about the coop/shed we picked up in Monroe. I haven't had a chance to get the actual dimensions but I believe it's roughly 5 feet by 7 or 8 feet. We picked up some windows on CL to put on the door and back wall. Once the windows are up we'll be able to paint it. I bought Deck Restore from Lowe's Oops area, which looks like (and sounds from what the paint guy said) one of the best materials for this. We'll put it on the inside and basically be able to spray it down with a hose without worrying about water getting to the wood. Michael hasn't decided if he's going to shingle the outside or if we'll paint it. I'll update later once we get started (on the backburner for the moment).

Great News !
I talked to Royce last night and per suggestions Royce and Anna gave me....I drove to Del's, spent a big giant $15 on a BIG bottle of Tylan injectible...drew up a bunch in the syring and armed with a cup of alcoholed cotton balls, DH and I caught and shot each bird in the breast (took about 10 minutes) and this morning they are all sooooo much better !!!!!!!
Even their poop looks normal.
I will give a shot today and a shot tomorrow and that should be sufficient...which leads us all to believe this is merely CRD with complications of MG (maybe) and not ILT afterall...I still have not heard from the lab, but if not bylunch I will call as I have to go do stuff now...I am sure Doc will call as soon as she can, I have bugged her enough

But what a miracle drug just as Redrooster and Tailfeatherz said !!!!!!!!!
And for $15....

Chickielady: What is CRD or MG or ILT? I have talked to the vet and a few others and regarding my hen, they think that she had secondary complications of MG or something else. Everyone else in my feathered family looks good still. But this information, you have provided, is worth a million bucks. Thank you.

http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044 keep this link in your favorites.
Study the diseases and their abbreviations.
CRD is Chronic Respiratory disease and I think alot of common bacteria can cause such diseases like we get the common cold, however ILT, (Infectious Laryngo-traechiitis (SP?)) and many other respiratory disease can happen too...Coryza is infamous for FOUL smelling exdudates (snot) that can plug the bird's mouth and nasal holes, and holding the birds you can smell it...my birds did not have stinky snot...so it is not Coryza...and so this link will help you.
If you go down to the bottom of that page there is charts that are alot of help dealing with symptoms.
In any event, it is always the best thing to isolate immediately, any bird that looks "off" or has sneezing...and Redroosterfarms recommended tylan injection to the sick birds in isolation, and tylan in the water of the others for at least 3 days....I am going to call the lab again...
