That isn't a pine cone. It is a pile of Yak poo. . . .

Jean - LOVE the white cock! Congrats!

Of course it's yak poo! How could I have not recognized that?

Illia is probably wondering why we are all going on about the yak poo and not saying what a beautiful rooster !!!!!
I took pictures of my garden one time, peaches to be exact, and posted them, little peach trees was LOADED!
Then someone pointed out my labrador in the background hunched over, tail straight out making #2....OH!!!!!

And no one noticed the peaches !!!

yeah, up to 80' in my house now and almost 90' out in the coop... Went for a walk today and really wished I'd have worn shorts and a sleeveless shirt. I had to take a shower when I got home. I moved away from Ohio for a few reasons... one big one being the hot, humid summers (another being the bitter, cold winters).

Luckily areound here, we only get a week or so of true muggy weather. I just dont like feeling sticky and dirty 15 minutes out of the shower.

Ok, Im off to turn in and feed some horses. See you all in a bit.

I feel your pain. . . . We're doing very poorly with our vegetable outcome as well. And to think, I planted over 100 onions. Guess how many are drying now? One! Darn weather. . . . .

As for the Yak poo thing, nah, I completely understand.

Off of 25 tomatoe plants I only got 4 tomatoes... All but one plant shrivled up and died weeks ago. The last one is starting to give up the goast, but has a buch of fruit just waiting to ripen. So it is now hanging in the garage to finish, with a padded trough under it to catch any that might fall.

Yes I spoke with Illia, and although I can't drive that far either, maybe I will ask her to ship after I get a better incubator. Otherwise we plan on a trip next spring/summer to dig for fossils in Neah Bay, and may pick up from her then.

I used to live in Ellensburg, pan for gold, & hunt for Ellensburg Blues. If I had the barn finished I would be able to go! To many jobs that didn't get completed this summer, and it was a very short summer at that!

I agree Chickielady, our weather is totally confused!

My Dad in Elma, the king of onions, is doubting any will dry, the weather not hot enough to get them to 'sweeten' he says, and now there maybe too much mildew, unless he hangs them and runs a big fan....

Bummer, he keep the entire family in wonderful onions you can eat like an apple that keep in the celler all winter...my shell beans are doing wonderful, shell peas great, seed for next year, and my Italian green beans that took grand champion at the Pacific County Fair are still going strong and man oh man are they meaty and good, with garlic and a sprinkle of bacon, salt and pepper...you can hurt yourself eating so many they are soooo good !
