I hear ya! Good thing the oldest boys dog sleeps with him!

I also wanted to let you know that I have some Welsummer chicks or I could hatch some out for you! How many were you looking for?
I'm sorry about your Sumatra's. Bummer when we wait and wait for something and then that! Just PM if you are interested in some Welsummers.

I can't imagine the task ahead of you for tomorrow, that is why I cannot raise meat birds.

Hope your day is as good as it can be!

Laura just a little advice on planting - cloudy or even rainy days are the best time to plant. Less shock on the plants and if you are planting seed-you won't have to worry about them drying out.

Good luck with your garden

Sad to say but the big dog is a 130lbs Komondor. I think it was the 65lbs Old English Sheepdog that was the guilty party, but it could be anyone of the 4 Yorkies. Still lolrof

Yes I would love to get some Welsummer chicks. I would have space for about 10 of them.

Of all the chicks I got this year, all I wanted were Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans. I got the Marans but have been skunked on the Welsummers.

My e-mail is [email protected]

We have planted most of our garden while it was raining to some degree or another. The motto around here is "If we don't work in the rain, nothing would ever get done"

Hello all!

I have a proposition. I have several chickens I'd like to trade for some hardware cloth or other quality chicken fencing materials. I'd also be up for a trade for a nice old working incubator.

Here's what I'm offering:

- a two month old Sultan pullet
- a 3 year old gold-laced wyandotte hen, reliably laying
- a two month old bluish-tan ameraucana pullet
- 2 rhode island red pullets, one week old

Offers? Thanks! Will post pics soon.

Chicken bartering, chicken swapping, this will be fun to watch and see what happens.

No not me, not yet...don't tempt me. I know when I've pushed my DH to the edge...and I really think I'd like to add a rabbit and a couple different types of hens....but no I better not....at least not this summer!

I am beginning to think that I am the only one on here that tests his DW patience with chickens. I am the one that wanted them, suppose to be four no roos um hehe ended up with 9 and 1 roo shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

That's too funny. My boyfriend has been great and at first didn't want but a few. Then it was I could get more as long as I got him a white silkie. Now, it's I can have as many as I want as long as I provide all the care and food. But he's got to provide the labor of building the coop and run, which by the way I got to design, lol. I happen to think it's a great trade off. He also tilled the garden for me and I do all the planting, weeding (gosling) and pest control (chickens and ducks).
