Ummm... ask me no questions I'll tell you no lies? The last four roos we picked up are nice and safe in the freezer. We got them from an guy who's had chickens for years and let the grandaughter raise a few. He couldn't keep all the roos but couldn't dispatch them with her there also. Sorry, I've got an extra and In a few more weeks I know where he'll be on his way to.

I need to post pics but I got the ducks the other day and they are so fun. The hen layed an egg already. They are so picky and big. I think they are enjoying the city life so far. Incase I didnt mention before they are Saxony's from Holderreads stock. So come spring I might have some eggs for sale! Now I am going to try to post some pics.

Okay here are a couple pics from the first day. The drake is the biggest one and he is in eclipse plumage right now.

Hi everyone.

I am over in Hoquiam. I have 38 - 16 day old chicks..... Soon to be down to hens in a couple months.

Planning to do ducks and geese next year. I like the look of the French Toulouse that Metzger Farms has online. Maybe the Khaki Campbel.

weaveagarden ~ welcome neighbor! I'm in Aberdeen. I started in Feb of this year and am loving my chickens. I'm in it for the eggs and the entertainment. I have silver laced Wynnadotts and I am really happy with them. And this BYC site has been so much help.

I'm near Everson, WA in Whatcom county.

Almost everyone near me has chickens, or at least it sounds that way now that the roos are sprouting!
I love hearing the progression from gargling to cock-a-doodle-doo.

I moved here from Seattle, via a short stopover near Colville, WA. Been here since 2004, and I only wish I had come here sooner....

My little featherlegged buff brama bantam ( at least that's what BYC people say he is) has started to crow.He is so cute. He hears the neighbors rooster then crows back. We really enjoy standing and watching him. The problem is that all our chickens are on the other side of the barn from the house and yard so we only get to hear them if we go into the barn. I am considering putting a mike in the barn that will feed to a speaker closer to the house. Then we can enjoy the sounds of all the chickens with out having to be in the barn.
No I am not crazy and I am not addicted to my chickens !!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Just need to let you all know that King Count Fair is starting on Thur. hope some of you will come out and see all the 4-H kids doing there thing. They really work hard all year for this. My son has dairy goats and this is his last year so he is just doing pack goats this year with Rock who is known around for how large he is and how much he loves Zach. Rock won the first year Pack was at Puyallup Fair pretty cool.
Oh this wasnt going to be out my son just hope some can make it out there.

Hey is anyone coming to Down River Days in Ione the weekend of the 24 to 26?

It is a great time with a parade, train rides, vendors in the park and highlighted, snowmobile races...across the Pend Oreille River. If you sink you lose.

I will have a booth at the park and would love to meet you! I will even hand out bumper stickers to BYC members!
If you need anything from the BYC Store, I can bring it and you save on shipping!

Zgoatlady & King County fair ~your post brought back great memories.

I love 4H, both my kids showed dogs all the way through. We were assistant leaders for a group of 42 kids and dogs. What great memories we have. I feel they both gained very good life skills from their experience in 4H, at the fair and all.
