Sorry about your loss. Hope your new babies make you very happy.
I live just over a mile down the road from Webster Road Feed. I got two of their Salmon Faverolles out of this batch. One is little -- I'm a sucker for a runt -- but they both are doing very well. I also got 6 Buff Orps he had that are the same age. I have them in with my 3 Welsummer chicks.
I bought a lot of my chicks at Webster Rd. Feed. They are getting a bunch more chicks in tomorrow. I'm not sure what breeds they are getting, but I am trying to resist the temptation. I know I will have to drop by and just look.
I am a little frustrated with a couple of my pullets in the big coop. I put a window in the coop up high so it would give light to the whole coop and now I have a couple chickens that are roosting on the window sill. It is about 7 ft. high. Their highest roost is just over 5 ft. high. Tonight I thought about climbing up and getting them down, but there were 29 other chickens on the roosts and I decided it would cause too much angry flapping and clucking if I disturbed them. Besides, I am not a young woman and I would hate to have to explain to the emergency room doc. how I broke my hip.
