I agree with Kim there is no point in renting a place, if it is going to be less than about 30 of us for potluck. I would rather help out with paper plates, silverware, cups, and napkins, so that we don't need to bring our own.
So we need to vote somehow sooner rather than later. It can be as simple as I would go if it was North? or South? or anywhere else, or you would come if..... Let's keep calling places, if you know where one is.
I know that most of the core group has responded to the invitation. We need to set a cutoff date for the RSVP, so that we can be able to rent a place with the date we have in mind, or so that we can just get on with planning the menu that we are going to eat at Kim's. And then we can stop inviting everyone to join the party, here on this thread. We may also want to start a new thread so that the ones planning to come to the party can discuss the event without having to feel the need to keep inviting new ones. (This would be like me <img s)
I have done some event coordinating in the past. This may explain some of my bossiness, that plus being the oldest girl in a family of nine. Please feel free to ignore me. I will completely understand.
I also had to move the baby chickens out to the garage while I was trying to write this. DH has a bad chest cold right now, and is worrying about the dust that the chicks give off. We have been running the exhaust fan in that bathroom for at least 2 days since DH got home. DH has a really tight chest, and is probably right about the dust.
I was surprised at how sturdy the chicks are. I knew that they were eating everything insight, but I am blown away at how healthy they are compared to hatchery chicks. I will have to upload some picture of them. I am going to give the chicks some greens today.
Mike aka eagle is hatching some really healthy chicks is all I can say. Thanks again Mike for the chicks; my Uno would have so lonely if you hadnt been hatching chicks to. The Black Copper Marans are beginning to show the copper color all ready.
