Washingtonians

Well, I think we missed out on most of the blowing last night. Reports of possible 90 mile winds, but everything seems pretty secure here. And I didn't hear the wind much when I was up. Sunny and a little bit warm this AM for me. Finally some egg song sounds from the coop. I am waiting till 11 to check. Nothing in the nest at all today when I opened it up at 9AM.

Things have been pretty quiet about the party lately. I wonder if it might be a good idea to post in the Chickenstock area something like Washingtonians Potluck February 28th - All BYC welcome. Just a thought. Might create a little bit more interest. Also, I wonder if TerrieLacy (sp?) could help us to PM Washingtonian folk to let them know about it. That is if we are as seriously short on cash for the payment of the hall as it sounds. I will let you planners figure that out.

Any of my farmville neighbors out there who have the free gifts add on. I could really use farm cash if you have that available as a free gift choice. Pretty Please

I can't buy any animals with $4 and can't figure out what makes it go up without actually spending real money to buy it. I can also use more chickens for my coop. What do you all want me to gift to you? And Rob, did you and Diane get the farmcash I sent to you?

Our two BRs are our meanest chickens. When we had a roo they would pick fights with him. Everyone has pretty much settled into the pecking order, but we're pretty sure that they are the ones who nearly killed our runner duckling (taller than the hens by then) who was hatched and raised by a buff orpington hen. We have some affection for them because they seem quite attached to us humans, but they sure make it difficult to introduce newbies into the flock. Have to admit, we won't be anxious to replace them when they get old and die.

Isn't it funny how even in EVERY breed chickens can have different personalities

My BR is my shyest girl and at the BOTTOM of the pecking order. I have two RIR. one is very friendly the other is mean. I have two golden sexlinks one is very friendly the other is mean. and I have one DW who is VERY MEAN and at the TOP of the pecking order

Does anyone here in kitsap or somewhere near by have any silkies for sale. I just heard from a friend that her neighbor lost all but one Silkie. She is hoping to find 2 or 3 chicks/pullets or hens. PM me if you know of someone that has some so I can pass on the information.

Thanks,

Well, not that close by, but the egg/chicken farmers near me are going to have silkies this spring. They're in Glenoma (eastern Lewis County). MZM Farm.

Zgoatlady,
Party is in Juanita (Kirkland)

I just heard a voice say to me. You have 3 choices:

1- Turn off BYC & TV and start housework

2- Stay on BYC and clean up tonight with Napalm

3- Switch houses with the chickens cause the coop is cleaner than the house

Think I'll go with option 1.

I'll check back in tonight.

Ron Ron Ron It's a matter of perspective. Perhaps you are just the very shy one and at the bottom of the pecking order.

Well we lost power again from 9-10 this am. I went to the road and saw PUD and others at the neighbors so went to see what up. Seems they had a big fir fall that took out the power first time last night. The fool neighbors were out there with 2 tiny dull saws trying to cut the tree up and had started at the top. I told em you better buck that off the stump or it will stand up and hurt/kill somebody. Well after I finally convinced them of that they agreed to let me bring a real saw and buck it off the stump. Not that I really like these neighbors but don't like to see somebody get hurt cause they are doing something they know nothing about.

Weav see no FV cash yet but I don't think ya really get to use it. To get more animals keep harvesting crop and ya will get enough coin to buy critters.

Just.. White. I don't know, that's what they were sold as.. They're pretty flighty yes, they've calmed down a bit now that they're laying, but right now the only harder girls to catch are the EEs.

Last night, I let the roosters catch them and then grabbed them while they were distracted!
