My schedule is just to busy, with my new business, 18 month old daughter, and many other animals. My budget is just too tight to care for them the way they deserve, so I figured I better re-home them now, before I really get in over my head and their health starts to go down hill. I have thought long and hard about this, and can come up with no other solution. I am afraid that if I keep them much longer, I will not be able to afford their upkeep.

So unfortunately for me, I am rehoming;

2 not so Buff, 8 month old Buff Orpingtons "ordered from Ideal last June."
2, two year old Black Australorps
1, two year old Barred Rock
1, 8 month old Barred Rock
2, 8 month old Silver laced Wyandottes

I would like if at all possible to get $10 per hen.

I also have one 9 month old Kahki Campbell drake, that is free for the taking if anyone wants him.

I'm not one to ask for handouts or help too often, but this time I just cant do it alone.

Thanks guys.

I confess I usually end up bringing "last minute surprise". My husband made a pork curry last night and he says I should just take it and relax and enjoy the morning - so that's probably what it will be. Sounds like we are losing a few along the way - DARN! But look forward to meeting the rest of you.

I'm sorry that you can't keep up with your chooks anymore, but I can understand...It's hard to run a business... and to have a toddler also, that's hard. I've been there. I couldn't imagine trying to keep up chickens when I was trying to run a business (bakery) and my youngest was still little.

I wish I could help, but I'm pretty far away from you, way down in Mossyrock (SE of Olympia). If I were nearby, I'd probably help out with a few of them. I love my wyandottes and orps.

Good luck in your new business and in finding new homes for your girls!

The cleaners just called. They lost my spandex tux.

Somehow I knew I shouldn't have gone to the Kinky Kleaners I suspect they are out partying right now!

Oh well, See you in about an hour. Car is almost packed.

Sooo. . . . um, how was the party?

Anyway, didn't really get the yak video today. Or pics. Even though he was being an absolute adorable, silly calf - Running around and back and forth and trying to play with the goats. . . Hilarious stuff. Especially if you run, and he chases behind, then zips right past you.

Wow 7 hours without a post.

Well the potluck was a huge success. Way too much food, but is that really a problem?
It's amazing that so many diverse strangers can get together and have a good time. Already looking forward to another this summer.
