Hi Chickielady
No we dont take in goats, my son started with goats when he was around 9 and was in 4-H with them, I do think I know who you are talking about but she live in Maple Valley or more like Black Diamond. Shes a nice person tried to get her to take some of ours for cheap but she know we wont take them to the auction so she wont take them.
Gosh I'll give you a great price on the fixed boys and let you know how to care for them and all of that. We want to get good homes for our kids becasue they are our kids and oh so sweet. I have a little girl upstairs in my living room right now she's to small to be with the others right now. But oh shes going to think of her self as a human by the time she goes out with the rest of them..

BroT Welcome..

OH my gosh I came home to 10 chicks and more hatching what a good way to top off Easter..

crazychickenluver if you were close Id be happy to give you some Olive Eggers..

ok, I just had the weirdest dream last night. I'd died and was a ghost, coming back to visit. My chickens were everywhere! It was all crazy around the house and people weren't doing a good job keeping the chickens in line and then I had babies escaping and everything else... lol weird.

Momma is still taking good care of all the eggs and the chick, too! what a good momma. Well, I guess there isn't anywhere else for her to go but set on the eggs since she's in that tub, but I do let her out each day to do her thing. She goes back in there on her own, though. I've never seen anything more adorable than her with her baby chick

Hello to all!

I'm in Ellensburg and this will be my first year with chickens. So far I've got 2 Barred Rock and 2 Golden Coment that are 5weeks old in the "intermediate brooder" that we call the mini coop out in the garage

Then we've got 2 Buff Orpington, 2 Buff Brahma, 2 Gold Laced Wyandotte, and 4 Ameraucaunas that are 3 weeks old in "preschool" which is a 3'x3' wooden brooder in the living rooom. And then I couldn't help but get a few more now that the nursery tub is empty... so we picked up 1 White Leghorn so we have one white egg layer just for variety, 1 Speckled Sussex....and then just for fun, 1 Buff Silkie, 1 White Silkie, 1 Black Silkie, 1 Buff Polish, and 1 White Crested Black Polish..... that should be 21. And my husband swears that we are done for now.

We have our layers and our fun little pets/brooders. I am already in love with it. My oldest chicks are 5 weeks and the neighbors are already asking for eggs! LOL

As far as the people in our family -- I have an amazing husband that built me a brooder after I said I'd use a tub, and built me a mini coop and run after I said I just wanted a plain wooden box. I have 3 awesome daughters that are 5, 9, and 10. I have one CRAZY and entirely cool son, Kurtis who will be 4 next month. We're in a great house on a little over 3 acres....just enough to play homesteader!

to all the Newbies!!!

Hope everyone had a good Easter weekend!

We ended up with 16 chicks from our weekend hatch. Plus we have 6 week old feed store chicks we are merging in with the young ones, for 22 little chicks.
Plus 10 in the Phase 2 brooder that are about 5 wks old now.

Hoping to get outside and get some work done in the yard. I had expected rain today but it's beautiful out there!

Tamara
