They could've come as early as this weekend, but I'm thinking it's going to be another couple of days (I'm starting to think my ducks weren't really 'sitting' on them 28 days ago, maybe just spending more time by the nest and 'thinking' about getting serious

). Anyway the eggs still look viable, but no pips or peeping yet. I'll keep you posted. Though they have gone into that mode where they are hardly leaving their nests for any reason. I'll keep you posted.

HI L0rraine How is the Buff Silkie doing? They are almost a year old April 16th Wow

Cackling Hen, He's still doing great. He's quite the little dude - very protective of my Black Silkie hen, though I keep hoping to get them their very own 'color-matched' mates. It looks like I've found a blue rooster for my Black hen, but still need a buff Silkie hen for the roo (anybody out there?). Here's a pic ... How are ALL of yours doing??

Today was SOOO nice, sunny, and warm.

- I finally went to the DNR to get myself a permit for burning our slash piles (can't wait. . . Once that happens, we'll get more eggs, and the Wyandottes will stop laying eggs in them

) I also found that my whole hill of strawberries is starting to flower now!!

And the funnest thing of all I did today was take our new Nubian buck and our only non-pregnant LaMancha doe on a walk down the road. . . We had a lot of people drive by with odd looks on their faces.

- I think we're the only ones with goats for miles and miles, and since we live on a road for tourists to just see beautiful forest and beaches, it's kinda odd to see two people walk down the road with goats on lead lines as if they're dogs.

Tomorrow we're picking up more Marans pullets and possibly a cockerel.

That is great to hear your getting your hatch going, can hardly wait to hear how many you get.

I was in Snow today could not belive it, :eek:my son kept saying now mom thats not snow. But I got what I wanted to that was good.

Have two new kids one doe and one buck, but they are Toggs and so cute, so now we have what 15 kids with four legs.
Its late heading to bed

just checked on momma's nest. no pips yet, but more knocking and peeping going on in there. It's so hard to see inside the FBC marans and olive egger eggs. Suspenseful! Hopefully by the end of the day, I have a few pips and maybe even some hatching?? *biting nails*

Wouldn't ya know !! Finally gonna get some nice weather to get out and do things and my back decides to give me fits. I'm thinking it's not gonna be a good day. It hurts so bad to even walk but I have to get things done. I have bees coming in a week and have to get a hive ready among other things.
Also kind of a sad day for me because it was one year ago today that my little Quaker parrot "Buddy" died in my hands while at the vet. I miss that little guy so much.

On a brighter note. My apple and cherry trees are just starting to bloom so the bees will have plenty of food to get em started.

Well I'm outta here gotta get DW up and gonna make biscuits and gravy for breakfast. And yes I make my own biscuits not them canned ones and it's not store bought sausage either.

Hopin everybody has a good weekend and get lots of yer out door projects done !!

Rustler.

I'm a Quaker 'keet person myself. My little girl also died in my hands from an accident. It's heartbreaking. RIP Alex.

My Ratchet is a crabby old man.
