I have had all sorts of intestinal problems myself, I have a very over active (hyper actually) immunal system so have a host of auto immune related syndroms and diseases that can come and go, have celiac disease, cannot eat wheay ,gluten or oats, have raynaud's, hashimoto's thyroiditis, and a few others.
Gut problems suck.
Hope he is better !

OK so I did a bunch of digging and finally decided to call the city of Snohomish about the laws, I will paste this in the correct forum as well but since I know how difficult it is to dig up some subject I am posting it here as well since it is local information!

City of Snohomish:
Currently chickens are lumped in with all other livestock. You are NOT allowed chickens on any lot under 40,000sqft.

This subject is being brought up in City Council and the laws are likely to change. The City official I spoke to is going to try and keep me posted as to the changes. It is looking as though they are going to be allowing 4-6 chickens on lots 5,000 sqft or larger as there is a lot of interest in raising chickens. I will give updates as I am given them....

Update, out of 14 eggs, I had 1 clear, 2 that are doing nothing but are solid dark except the air bubble, so could still pip...and 11 absolutely gorgeous babies, looks like 3 black, 2 blue and the rest are blue splash.
So adorable !
They have the little bell bottoms on...and I must go out and help DH get the pole barn up~~~

Did they say anything about unincorporated snohomish county? I was thinking about setting my gram up with a small coop and 3 or 4 chickens for mothers day. She loves coming over to my place and holding my babies. She says when she was growing up on her farm in Idaho they never wanted to get attached to their chickens because then they would butcher them. So now she can just have them as pets and for eggs.

I didn't even ask, I will call tomorrow and see what the answer is to that. I am sure it would also depend on what part of unincorporated snohomish county. If you could send me that info I might be able to get a better answer for you

Zgoatlady, sorry about your son's surgery. Hope he is doing ok. I had to have mine out 6 wks after DD #2 was born. No fun!!!

Jamie, I have a 10 wk old Welsummer roo if you'd like him. We live out in Monroe, just north of Duvall. He came from JamesA who I bought eggs from, who got them from Whitmore Farms. Let me know though, cause otherwise he is going out to a friends farm on Saturday.

Steven, glad to hear your birds are doing well! Just a heads up, I have a few birds that came in the same batch your birds did, that are going through their first molt. So if all of a sudden you see your birds dropping feather and egg production down, that is why. Totally normal. Thought I'd mention it since I have about 5 birds going through it that are the same age as the ones you got from me.

Sad news, my BLRW didn't make it through the night. I'm a bit angry at my 8 & 10 yr old who mentioned to me this morning that they had both seen her sleeping a lot during the last few days. And they didn't mention it to me. I thought that by now they knew if a bird was sleeping during the day, something was not right. Needless to say, they have been clearly reminded!

Good news! I drove down south to get all my Lav eggs (6 bantam Ameraucana's & 6 LF Ameraucana's + 3 Lav Orps + 3 BBS Orps) and I was given 11 extra eggs!!! Whooo hoooo! I'm so thrilled! I got a dozen of the bantam Am's, 7 LF Am's and 8 of the BBS Orps.

Still no ducklings, and no pips yet in the locked down bator with hatch day tomorrow!

If I remember correctly, chicken rustler had a roo for FREE!!! a few pages back, like 2 days ago.

I posted about my EE roo that I might give up and live close to him. Maybe you were thinking of me? Course, he could have posted too, dunno.

Anyway, I have a barely 1 yr old black and white EE rooster (pics on my BYC page) that is VERY good to his girls, but rather annoying to me in that he tends to like to flog my leg. It doesn't hurt, but with all the mud in the coop, I have some extra laundry to do if I forget

My other rooster is a buff wyandotte and good all around. He's a big boy... and I'm keeping him
