Zgoatlady, sorry about your son's surgery. Hope he is doing ok. I had to have mine out 6 wks after DD #2 was born. No fun!!!
Jamie, I have a 10 wk old Welsummer roo if you'd like him. We live out in Monroe, just north of Duvall. He came from JamesA who I bought eggs from, who got them from Whitmore Farms. Let me know though, cause otherwise he is going out to a friends farm on Saturday.
Steven, glad to hear your birds are doing well! Just a heads up, I have a few birds that came in the same batch your birds did, that are going through their first molt. So if all of a sudden you see your birds dropping feather and egg production down, that is why. Totally normal. Thought I'd mention it since I have about 5 birds going through it that are the same age as the ones you got from me.
Sad news, my BLRW didn't make it through the night. I'm a bit angry at my 8 & 10 yr old who mentioned to me this morning that they had both seen her sleeping a lot during the last few days. And they didn't mention it to me. I thought that by now they knew if a bird was sleeping during the day, something was not right. Needless to say, they have been clearly reminded!
Good news! I drove down south to get all my Lav eggs (6 bantam Ameraucana's & 6 LF Ameraucana's + 3 Lav Orps + 3 BBS Orps) and I was given 11 extra eggs!!! Whooo hoooo! I'm so thrilled! I got a dozen of the bantam Am's, 7 LF Am's and 8 of the BBS Orps.
Still no ducklings, and no pips yet in the locked down bator with hatch day tomorrow!
