My most favorite bunny was a tiny little all black dwarf bunny. He's name was George. I loved that little bugger. He would terrorize my house and houseplants. He was a great house bunny. he potty train very quickly. I only had him for a few months, when friends dropped by to have DH look at their car. Well I was at work, and 3 adults didn't watch 4 kids. One of the friend kids got to excited and somehow broke the bunny. I find myself all these years later still P"""O"" about that. George is still my favorite little bunny after all these years. I had other bunnies but not one that had as much personality as did George.

I hope this new bunny lives a lot longer, and is very bit as cute charming as my George was. I will probably think of this little bunny as George the Second. Unless of course it turns out to be Georgina.

You got a bunny, too ?
*******Justbugged, *******my sister raises nonsense tzus (sp???) and has had quite a few with skin allergy problems and she only feeds rice & lamb kibbies now as the WHEAT in dogfood really bothers dogs.
Apparently there is more dogs allergic to wheat than people .
My black lab I had for 17 years jusy euthanized a month ago...was so allergic to wheat that if we fed her something like "kibbles and bits" she would bloat and have diareah horribly for days and be very obviously sick and uncomfortable.
Have you tried Rice & Lamb feed for your dog ?
She also feeds salmon canned food, but her dogs are tiny and she can afford it but she insists the salmon is so good for thir coats.
I avoid any kibble that first 2 ingredients are corn and wheat.
I think it is science diet rice and lamb that we used to feed Sam, and her coat was glossy and itch free until the last day of her 17 years.
Glad to see everyone's doing well....I am going mobile home hunting

I feed all the dogs Taste of the Wild kibble. It is grain free. The entire pack of dogs does very well on it. I try not to give the any treats except for meat cooked or raw. I have done a lot of research on this subject. Puppy used to get really bad hot spots. The raw food by Natures Variety is the best. I liked the rabbit meat formula the best. It is the closest thing to what the dogs should have been eating naturally; unfortunately we can't afford to feed 7 dogs raw meat all the time. So the Taste of the Wild Buffalo and Venison formula is the best we can do. I wouldn't feed my dogs anything made by the Purina Corp. with all that corn in the feed. I can't imagine what shape my poor dogs would be in.

I also have never fed the Komondor a lamb and rice formula of any feed. My thought is that a live stock guardian dog would never eat what they guard. Komondork guarded sheep so in my book no lamb for puppy. I keep an eye out protein sources that would have been the most natural to his environment. For some reason he has not done well on chicken so I don't bother with it. Dogs are carnivores and they don't need any grains to be healthy. If a dog food has enough meat it will not need fillers in the food. I have always free feed my dogs they have access 24/7. They are not and have never been overweight. Puppy weighed in at 122 the other day. That is his optimal weight. It is amazing how healthy he is for being such a large dog, and how old he is. He was born February 10th 1999. There are days when he bugs me really bad, but he is family and a forever dog in my house.

PS I don't have no bunnies these days. I have Yorkies, and Yorkies and bunnies are not a good mix. George was with us when my kids were little. He was just my most favorite bunny.

Oh my goodness yes!!! I have been looking and looking for true Araucanas for months now! And now with the unfortunate loss of 5 birds, I now have room again! I may even be interested in some chicks in the fall. I'll send you a PM.

My German Sheppard / Chow mix has horible wheat allergies, it doesn't make her exactly ill, but she itches terribly, and will chew off all of her fir until she is bloody. We feed her and our other two pups lamb and rice formula, "Not sure of the brand." We also give each dog a raw egg with fresh chopped garlic every day, and any raw meat scraps that we have on hand. I swear the animals eat just as well, if not better than we do around here. lol

But the extra effort makes for healthy happy dogs. Now If I could just get the Aussie / rottie mix's hair to finish growing back in, I will be happy.
Anyone know of a way to keep no-see-ums from attacking the poor dog?

Oh, how awful, for you and the bunny. This too is a tiny-tiny black bunny. I used to raise and show French Lops and they are huge compared to this one. Buying from the local feed store, they don't know what it was - a mutt. But it is so docile and cute. We tried, once, to have a house bunny and it proceeded to chew through a set of cables for my DH stereo system...he was none too happy. It also chewed through a few other cables as well. Bunnies can be house broke and are great pets....but I already have 3 dogs and 2-4 cats (depending on the time of year) coming through the doggy door on a daily basis.

Some bunnies house much easier to house train than others. I am thinking that this one as young as it sounds should be really easy. I never have had a cat that was willing to take on a bunny, but these dogs are another thing. It might be possible to train that the bunny belongs to the family, and must be left alone. Sometimes it works. But I truly understand what it is like with herd coming and going through the dog door. It requires the patients of a saint.

I cannot believe the amount of dirt that is hauled into my house on a daily basis, 3 kids, 3 dogs (little-yappy dogs), and misc cats....I sweep daily. Drives me nuts. I only have 1 dog that I would worry about, he killed a baby squirrel in our back yard, I think he thought it was a squeaky toy. I would have to train him that this was not one. But, I think we will do a hutch outside once it is big enough, right now it is an inside bunny.

I understand I have worn out my first Dyson vacuum cleaner. I had to get a new one this year. I don't even have any carpet in the house either. With the amount of dirt going through we put laminate flooring down. The next time we do floors I am going to make him do concrete. There are no flooring products that seem to understand this kind of daily mess or the fact that there will be water on the floor sooner or later.

I hope concrete is up to the challenge of this crew.
