sorry i havent been on in forever...

i have 73 chickens now

and 8 that i have successfully hatched this year and 3 look like pure brahmas

a barred rock crossed with a buff columbian roo chick is really cool. it looks like a bared rock chick but with leg feathering and green/slate legs now. but all the feathering is proper barred. i think the comb is a bit messy. part straight part rose.... really weird.

i am curious to see how the milly/ brahma chick is going to develope. and i am not quite sure what the other chicks are. i will post pics when i can

this coming saturday i will be off to college WSU. i will be a junior, i am transfering there.... mom was joking about how i will miss my chickens and that i should set up a web cam in my chicken pen.......... i wish.

i had a rabbit ... was cute and tame as a baby... then it turned mean.

i called it bugs... apparently she was a girl.

she had issues.... she loved to eat dog food. sometimes jalapenos..... it would really growl and hisss at strangers and would attack. i had it for 2 years then finally gave it away... the last rabbit i had was well trained..... this one was crazy. it looked like a californian. white, blue eyes grey ears....

Hi All;

Its been a really long time since I have been around. Went on vacation for a week and it looks like I am going to move to the Spokane area or the Couere D Alene area. Its beautiful and much warmer than the Kitsap Peninsula :) Also just got my three new showgirl chicks. They are really cute and I cannot wait til they grow up!! My Guinea Hen mom has disappeared only showing herself occasionally which means she has a nest somewhere and is setting eggs. Anyone interested in chicks they should be here in a couple of weeks and there is no way I am saving them all!!! I also got a new coop to house my showgirls and Turkins. The coop is really nice and was even delivered!! If anyone needs a great coop at a really good price I can get you in contact with the guy who made mine. He is also in the process of designing a smaller coop for in the city. My girls are absolutly eggcited about their new coop!! If anyone is interested in getting a coop like this one just PM me and I will get you his information!! Here are the pics:

Also I have a rooster I need to get rid of. He is kind of getting beat up by my other roo and I do not want him to get killed. Let me know if anyone is interested in him:

Hope everyone is having a nice day.

I had totally forgotten tht I used to take the doe to the buck's cage...now I remember why...it was many-many years ago that I used to show. We always have a rabbit moreso for the fertilizer for my garden and just let the kids have it as a pet. So our pets have "perks"....Chicken pets give us eggs and rabbit pet gives me poo.

Nike (I think that is what the kids named her), has an extra large cage and is right next to the chickens. She can talk with them. I do know that does can be cranky...again I just had forgotten. Thank you so much for the information. Seriously, it has probably been 25 year since I was showing and had a bunch of rabbits to manage.

We are finally back home!

Went to my hometown, Minneapolis, MN. It was hubbie's first time there during the summer. And it was 10 days of oh so hot & humid!

Good visit & happy to be back. We did a huge egg search when we got home and still none! The girls are 20 weeks. Our SLW has been doing the egg song... And the Dominique's comb & wattles are red, but not quite as bright red as the SLW.

Hopefully we'll be like Jessica with eggs coming out of our ears!

yikes! as bad as a dog!!

My brother had a pet rabbit when we were kids. He did get bitten by his rabbit, enough to make his hand bleed pretty bad. Apparently, they made up because he had that rabbit a few years afterwards...

It was like a dog, he would hang out in the yard,I didn't have a fence and I didn't put him in a cage.He was so cute as a baby.
