So it's been awhile since I last posted. Like in the spring I think. After replacing my flock this spring after the coyotes got my last flock. I am happy to report all is well with my five chickens and am now getting eggs again. Been a busy summer here in Graham. I do have a question, does anyone compost the bedding from the coop and if so do you just let it sit all winter then incorporate into your garden in the spring??? I have a huge pile outback....

and last of all Mark's....the first two photos are color distorted due to the heat lamp, but you can see the lavender babies color in the last photo of Mark's babies.
The one black baby in Monica's batch spread his wings just as I snapped the picture so he/she looks funny...but is fine !
They are beautiful babies, and all doing great !

I pile it up during the spring and summer. But when my garden is done I just throw it directly on top of it and let it compost right there. Then I til it all in and add more from the pile. The weeds liked it this year! Lol! My garden didn't do a thing. But I wasn't trying really hard to make it work either. Oh well.

Yes they are very devasted right now. I am trying to encourage them where I can. Like today I told em I don't think I should haul the mill off cause just in case ya decide to start up again I think we could rebuild it. They agreed and I left it. I do have the tractor on my trailer and a load of tin on the truck. The tractor is a total loss there is nothing left to rebuild.

Who ever it was that wanted to ask about boat stuff feel free. I don't have any but some times I get the strangest things and always have "a shopping list for others".

Ah, the boat stuff questions were me, and as it is, DH just left to go to Elma to spend the night and take my Mom and Dad to Oly at 5 AM for his 2nd laser kidnet stone proceedure...Ouch, poor Daddy !
It was the size of a hen's egg !
Last proceedure they busted up half of it and he pee'd gravel for weeks, it was very hard on him, the pain was awful...
Anyway the second half gets lasered tomorrow, they insert a tube and laser/camera up the ureter, through the bladdder to the kidney...OUCH!!!!!!!!!
Anyway anyway, DH is looking for exhaust manifolds and other parts for an OMC/Ford 302 and that is all I know...exhaust has cracks, and weeps, although not gushing.
I think they cracked a year ago when he was running it in the driveway and the "earmuffs" fell off so very little garden hose water was getting up there...so I came along, saw all the steam, and fixed it: in the process I probably sent the full force of the hose up there nice and cold and hit the hot cast iron manifolds and POW!
He thought it was from freezing, but no water stays in there over winter as it is higher than the block..
When he gets home I will tell you what he is looking for, also a rat rod, a 30's or 40's even, rusty ratted out body with few dents, all fenders and frame.

Geeze, I still like Smashing Pumpkins...but my daughter told me 5 years ago they were OUT...funny part is ALL the kids are into MY music: Stones, Doors, Janis...need I say more ???
I have pics of the poultry winners at our tiny fair...in jusst a minute~

So we can rock out to rock n roll, watch the chickens, and eat killer cookies. What a way to go.
