Just keep a log of food/meds/etc for the next few months..
It took me almost 3 months to figure out I got the Hives every time I took ibuprofen... which I was taking in order to make the hives go away

Now I only take a Acetaminophen or Aspirin if I ever need it.

Make sure she wears "loose" clothing when she has the hives as any place that rubs (like a waistband of pants) can in turn create more hives to be itchy and uncomfortable with.

Anyone goingto the PNWPA show at Stevenson this weekend? We're thinking about it...

No, we can't make the show this weekend. Too far and too much already on the schedule.

Chickielady, looks like you are making progress!!

We just processed all our extra roos for the first time. We skinned them, 6 in all, and it went fairly well. I'm ready for a hot bath and a nice adult beverage though. Glad it is Survivor night so I can sit and veg this evening!!!!

Okay, the "girl's" coop is nice and warm. Insulated. I have a heat lamp on in there, there is food and water. But, yet.....they all like to try and sleep on the perch outside. It is getting cold here, in the 30s at night. 3 or 4 go inside, but everyone else is outside. There are perches inside. The room is 16x16 for 12 birds. Will they eventually figure it out, or do I need to go "chicken-chucking" and toss them all inside?

I would go out when it is dark and they can't see, and put them on the inside roosts. You might have to do this for a couple of days, but they will soon get the hang of it! I've often had to do this with chicks after moving them outside when they would rather pig pile on top of each other in a corner.

Geez - I thought I had the only silly ladies who like sleeping outside all night on their roosts! Cause of a busy schedule I'm also not able to get down to Stevenson this weekend but I'd love to hear all about it from anybody who is going to make the trip. LOVE to see lots of photos too!

Am fairly new to this forum (BYC) and just found the Washingtonians group. Love this site and all the info I've been reading is terrific.

Also, depending on what the 'rash' actually looks like, my guess is that they will provide her with a low potency corticosteriod to resolve this 'flare'.

This photo was taken within 5 minutes of me noticing the hives... This "one" spot grew to cover her entire arm. She had a 6" circle around her belly button, both of her thighs were completely covered. Within 2 hours of onset of hives, it had reached her cheeks.

The best bullseye rash I have ever seen was on me, about 100 of them when I woke up the morning after I ripped all the tendons out of my L knee...immunal system was really PO'd to say the least...Lupus is greatly effected by Sunlight as well....and has no 'center ' to the bullseye and comes in may forms.
