yes ! 7 PM Pacific...........and how goes the hatch ???
The quail ??

The chickens should hatch today but 1 hatched after I left for work on fri, then 1 on sat, I'm at work now but I'm hoping the rest all hatch now! goofy birds.
The quails and serama's hatch in the next 2-3 days

I don't have "TV."

I've got internet and a big screen television. . . .

Well, I had some, umm, non-festive halloween. Dug four deep holes, wandered around with 60 lb cement bags, put in huge posts, filled em with cement, etc. I'm in the middle of making a big ol' shed for my chickens and Yak. Preparing for winter!

The cute part was, the entire time I was doing all that work - My yak just stood by my side, watching everything I did. He's so sweet and personable. I gave his ever-growing horns a good massaging itch, too.

This is how he looks now:

He's a growin' man!

to all the newbies!!

Ok is it just me or do I have spoiled brats?

I was cleaning out their house yesterday and was blown away at how dirty it had gotten in 2 days! (we collect eggs everyday but had cheer on Fri and didn't collect till Sat.)

It turns out that the snots have decided to get mouthfuls of food and carry it into the house and eat in there!!! Half of the outside run is covered where the food and water is so it is not like they were getting wet at the feeder!

HELLO!!!!! THEY ARE DUCKS!!!!! GETTING WET ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE AN ISSUE!!!!!!!

They will swim in their pool in the rain that is not covered but OH NO they want to eat dinner in the cozy house!!!

I guess raising them in the dining/livingroom for the first few months is now coming back to bite me in the butt! We always sit down together for family style dinners and I think they learned it from us!!

4cats3kids1hubby2many I don't want to hardboil them since fresh eggs can be hard to peel, but there is nothing better than fried or scrambled farm-fresh eggs. Also....they are so much prettier.

Now.....isn't this the thread that has a certain someone who has [i :

ISSUES[/i] with white eggs? Mine are all brown, but I know there are other pretty eggs too.

I don't have issues wiff WHITE eggs as long as our chickens don't lay em. Now I do have a very good buddy on here that PREFERS his white eggs. I won't mention any names but but his initials RonB

And as for peeling the hard boiled eggs. There is a thread on here all about. Peeling FRESH eggs is just as easy as stale store bought if ya cook em right !!!!!

You white egg brown egg people. . . That's old stuff.

Both white and brown are boring, but having a carton like THIS - Is not.

I'm just missing true green, olive green, and REALLY dark olive green.

Here's my usual eggs of the day right now. My white egg layers (Polish) are molting though.

since ya brought it up. We get several shades of brown fron light to the very dark. We also get green and one that sometimes has some blue on the end AND we have one that lays PINK!!!! I am going to try breeding for olive in the spring.
