I told my mother to stop buying eggs and I would start giving her some since we are getting so many. She had forgotten how good fresh eggs are. Yolks that are hard to break and stir up. Whites that hold their shape and are not all watery. The eggs actually have a flavor. I don't want to hardboil them since fresh eggs can be hard to peel, but there is nothing better than fried or scrambled farm-fresh eggs. Also....they are so much prettier.

Now.....isn't this the thread that has a certain someone who has ISSUES with white eggs? Mine are all brown, but I know there are other pretty eggs too.

put a little apple vinegar in the water. it makes them a snap to peel.

Never heard of using Apple cider vinegar.....will have to try that. Thank you.

I don't have issues wiff WHITE eggs as long as our chickens don't lay em. Now I do have a very good buddy on here that PREFERS his white eggs. I won't mention any names but but his initials RonB

And as for peeling the hard boiled eggs. There is a thread on here all about. Peeling FRESH eggs is just as easy as stale store bought if ya cook em right !!!!!

I must not cook'em correctly....and I am glad you have no problems wiff white egggs...and I am glad that your hens don't LAY white eggs. And without mentioning any names, but initials are RonB....I am glad that you are happy wiff your white eggs.

Chickielady: Thank you again for all the information. Our feedstore, vet's office and anything else, is closed on Sunday. So, I will call them tomorrow and see what I can do. If I have any thing I desperately need to do I will call. You are chicken-heaven sent.

OK, I want to know who has had a planned power outage, and how did the power company tell you about it ???
PUD here denies knowing anything of the subject at all...especially when I told them that friends on the west and the east side of the mountains were having " scheduled power outages"...

That was me. PUD here mailed us a note about it. We have a scheduled power outage on the 7th of November.

Normally we do, but this one is 7 hours long, which is stalling my plans for setting some eggs to hatch. . .
