Alright, I have a question for all.

What is your preferred blog site? We currently use MSN Spaces which is in the process of shutting down. I have to find a new blog site to transfer to and MSN is recommending WordPress.

The things I (used to) like about MSN: It's free, it is user friendly, there are no ads, & it used to tally how many times the pages were viewed (cool!).
The things I don't like about MSN: Bare-bones, it doesn't send the 'followers' an email saying there's a new entry, & it's hard to organize in anything other than by date.

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

I use blogspot and its been really good to me. Except, I can't see any posts on my mainpage today for some reason. Hopefully that only applies to me. . .

Blogspot is also free, userfriendly, has no ads, it's easy to organize, you can set it to mail you when you have new comments, but I'm not sure about hit counts. Although you can put a hit counter at the bottom or sidebar of the page.

I doubt it will snow here for the next ooh month, maybe year. Seriously it just about NEVER snows here.

It's raining and cold here though.

if you can get scrap wood build something simple like mine.
goto my BYC page it has plans and photos

Wow - very resourceful! Maybe I'd better start looking for some salvaged wood, windows, etc. now. Last night I talked to my husbands buddy who has some experience building sheds and decks and is newly retired about helping to build our coop in the spring. He said, "I've never built one before but if you design it I'll work for beer." I'm not sure I can beat a deal like that!

we got a double pane, vinyle, sliding window, with screen...for free. It fit absolutely perfect in the hole of the playhouse now turned hen house. Free is great.

I once spent $250 on a parakeet, but I didn't do it for the bird. I did it for my then 10 year old son who had thought it would be a good idea to introduce it to his new puppy. On the other hand, I've spent a lot of money on that "puppy" now that he's old. You do what you feel you have to. hmm

Oh I'm familiar - years ago when I was single and living in an apartment my $15 parakeet started growing a tumor on his neck which would have eventually killed him. I spent over $100 dollars for his surgery when he had a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery. He pulled through and I fed him antibiotics for the next couple of weeks and that sweet little bird lived another 11 years! He was very tame, personable and funny and worth every penny. Yep - we do what we have to do.

Thanks but I am not really interested. I don't have a need for it other than scrap and there probably isn't enough to make it worth the trip. Right now it is .08 per pound or $160 ton.

ok

You might want to ask what kind of beer and how much beer first lol.

I keep hearing about the harsh winter we are going to have also. The snow here isnt all that bad as it snows, then a few days later it usually melts. I used to work in Issaquah and at the first hint of snow we would leave and go home (we all lived 30 or 40 miles away or more). People here arent cut out for driving in the rain, and the snow only exacerbates that issue lol.

I am working on building some small 2 hen coops. I have the rough design but havent quite decided on a couple details.

Candled and lock down on the Javas and a few other assorted eggs last night...and I did not drop or chip any !
That is amazing for me ...I candled a Blue Ameraucana egg a few months ago and chipped it !
It was a live egg, darn!
So the chip was on top, thank goodness, so I put a tiny square of DUCK tape on it and locked it down, no goo ran out or anything, and the little baby hatched just fine.
Go figure.
I just realized I have no Marek's vaccine and have to get some for these babies..Dang it is cold today !
