Here is the back of the trailer with the old bator visable, a new one next to it...what a cool old bator!

Anyone ever seen one of these ?

I have not taken the tarp off the trailer yet, and still have feed and DE to unload in the van...bye for now !

Okay, to everyone:

The guinea vulture things are ugly up close, but gorgeous far away. Those feathers are incredible. DH agrees.


The yorkies are gorgeous....they are so cute...just want to smoosh 'em...and luv 'em...cute, cute, cute.

Congratulations on the chickies being hatched...how fun. post more photos.

RE: chihuahuas (sp?) being eaten for food...I dunno

but, it would be like eating quail, it would definitely take more than one. Anyone ever eaten quail? I always figured if we ran out of food and had no money we could feast on the HERDS of quail we have around here....also we have a few pheasant that come back and forth from the orchard across the street. I won't go hungry. We throw out scratch during the winter for all the wild birds...we try to keep them fed too, at least a little, especially if it is a hard winter. Like I said, I want them around just in case Wal*Mart closes or something.

(I"m kidding of course).

I have been a poultry processor several times now, but for me to do it I require participation from anyone that wants the deed done. Now I just have remind myself, that I am just a stay at home puppy mama. But I am willing to try just about anything, at least once.

lol Well I know who to ask for help if my Aunt flakes on teaching me how to process properly. lol

The last time I even SAW it done, I was 5 years old.

We're down in Anaheim so missing all the action. At least I get internet on the phone so I can get my chicken fix.

Those guineas actually are very pretty (from far away). Much less ugly than the horned ones. Why guineas at all though *shrug* besides, as I understand, an alert system for the chickens?

Cindy, we're very happy with the new girls. We make fun of the small golden but she really isn't bad. She eats from our hand and is attentive. It's funny to see her, she is so bonded to the white one. Almost like the small child that hides behind her mom's legs. Lol. They've been great fun! I've been meaning to send you an e-mail. Will do when we return from our vacation.
