Well no wonder yer shoulder hurts. I didn't think yer arms were long enough to stack 9 bags high on yer shoulder.

Now me I woulda just packed one at a time or got the muck cart or one of the tractors.

I had to pack each kind of feed into a different coop. the teenagers get the grower...the laying coop hens get the poultry special, and the 200 pounds of chick starter in the hatching coop....each coop has a plstic rubbermaid trash can in it with their feed in it.
so on the shoulder through the door and dump in the trash can in each coop, the handtruck cannot go there.
I pinched the condyle tendon so it feels like a 24/7 2 x 4 slammed into the elbow crazy bone...hurts, hard to brush teeth...ha ha I have done this same injury cutting splitting and stacking my 12 cord of wood every year..the crazy bone tendon is PO'd !!

DID YA FEEL IT DID YA DID YA DID YA 4.2

HOLY CRAPANOLY WHAT A NIGHT
ep.gif
First the wind blowing stuff around. Then the power went out at 10:20 and I hadn't prepped the generator. So I had to go get the battery pack to run DW breathing machine. Power came back on at 2:10. Then the EARTH QUAKE !!!! about shook me out of my chair. They have now said it was a 4.2 and was about 10 miles from me. Actually right near LaSombra. Hope she is OK and had no damage. 2 of my neighbors who were inside felt it but 2 who were outside had no clue it even happened.

in pullman its still blowing....

as i went to sleep last night i piled on a blanket and one of my stuffed animals to drown out the wind..... i have a fan and an air filter running in my dorm room... and it was still louder than that..... almost couldn't hear House on tv....

well as it got closer to 1am... it got louder out... i thought it was rain hitting my window.... but it was hail... then there were loud booms so i gave up and went to my window..... and that tree outside my room kept twisting and bending... i am on the 6th floor....

but the boom was from a sudden thunder and lightning storm... nothing about that in the weather forecast.... then 10 minutes after that happened they issued a severe thunder and lightning storm warning... a little late.....

so the gusts went up to 70mph and the average wind was 42....... the storm stuck around for 30 minutes then i could see the stars in the sky... and flashing off in the distance..... that storm was moving at about 55mph.... looking on the radar... that cluster of a storm was already past the rockies when i woke up this morning....

it is still windy outside... but not like last night... though it is a mess around campus..... i wish i packed a textbook in my backpack.... the wind is knocking me around...

last night my BF told me on the phone (cos it was windy at home, leavenworth, too) that if i was outside ... "Where is Rachel??" "Gone with the wind..." he said i would become a new prototype for a kite....... i feel the love....

hopefully my chickens at home fared well.... some of them still roost 20 feet up a tree....

which got me wondering. what happens to the magpies (they are the only birds on campus, its weird. no pidgins or crows, just a blue type of magpie...) and squirrels that sleep in the trees here and then a gust comes and knocks the tree about.... there is no way they could hang on in that....

so yeah the wind advisory is supposed to end at 10am today... but i am in the basement of a building in class.... and i still hear it blowing outside.......

Nope didn't feel it... But about two years ago, we had an earthquake with the epicenter right under my property. Woke up to iether KOMO news or KING 5 news pounding on my door at 8AM... We wound up with 2' deep sink holes/trench that is about 15' long... And the floor in my house pulled apart and is off centered/uneven because of it... Ugg...

Sorry to say this, but I'm glad it didn't happen up here, cause I doubt my house will handle another right under it...

Hope everyones damage is minor, or at least fixable... I still need to go do a walkabout of my property, and my mothers. And I also have to go assess any damage out at the barn... But from a cursory glance around, we had no damage worth talking about.

I noticed some wind last night, then a little later it was dead calm. Didnt notice much of anything. I did think that the limbs were hitting the house but there are none close enough I think, so it could have been hail?

I do not use the high end lights, as they are very expensive. I grow mine with fluorescents from Home Depot. I have an 8 foot shop light inthte dungeon room (the walls are all concrete, the floor concrete, and has a drain int he middle of the floor). It has 4 lights in it. 2 4800K lights, and 2 5500K lights. The lower number is red/yellow and the higher number is blue. Its a foot above the plants. It also gets natural lighting to some degree through the window. I use it to light my fish tanks also so its not just for growing plants in a way. I am currently waiting on seeds to come in the mail but I have a couple pepper plants iwth a dozen or two mini bell peppers on it, a couple huge bundles of basil of various kids, thyme, and some other thing slike that. I just started some tomatoes, and am trying out some oats for the chickens.

The oats are from the feed store. A handful of seeds make s acouple hand fulls of grass in a week or two. ITs about 1.5 feet tall now and I am talking it off the tops. It doesnt appear to be regrowing, I know very little about oats.

U can make a cheap aero/hydro unit from a 5 gallon bucket and a fish tank airpump. You have to keep it from freezing though.

http://www.diyseattle.com/backyard-gardening/hydroponic-5-gallon-bucket-diy/ Heres a one shot deal here I have peppers growing in now. I ahve a small fishroom so I have an air pump that can supply 25 or 30 or more tanks, I just put a ,manifold of PVC pipe and run the lines to the bins I am using. I recently set up another with a sump and an overflow that runs into buckets then to the PVC 4 inch main that has holes for the net pots for the plants to go in.

We did not feel a thing, and I am super sensitive to seismic movements.
Gary and I have both spent alot of years in the BA and NorCal...but neither of us felt it here in Raymond and as far as the news has said, no one else out here felt it either...the jolt went North towards Olympia I guess, not west.
What did LaSombra say about it right under her house ?????
