I have had a brain flash
I have for the first time now, used my big incubator with turner and fan to go the 2 1/2 weeks, and a styrofoam job for lock down...such a brilliant idea !!
Except for the styrofoam is digital and so super touchy that even looking at the knob can send it way over temp, and adjusting it down a tiny speck can send it plummeting.
So all was well, both bators started days before set and humidity all perfect.
Then lockdown comes, and the Javas went inot the styrofoam bator, locked down...and the power goes out.
Got to 87, not bad at all, then power came on and the element soared to get back up to temp and I believe it got too hot for some of them...some hatched but alot were stopped in their tracks.
So the remainder that were in the big incubator yet may still have a chance, we shall see in the next few days.
I was going to throw them all out and stomp the styrofoam bator and never hatch in the winter again as I told Cheryl...but I have since gotten MAD !!!
And now I am saving a few Marans eggs to pop in the bator in a few days.
Man, it is almost dark enough for street lights to come on from the monster thunder heads over the top of us right now.
Looks to be the Java fluffy butts already hatched are all pullets.
