1 am, out of nowhere, Flash, BOOM! rhen the wind started howling, blowing the heavy rains sideways with it. I think our house got pressure washed, and our metal roof had not howled like that in years! Counted 8 more flashes, all close by, torrential rain, crazy wind ... finally settled down enough to sleep.

DH just took my car to check on his. The fool drove his VW bug around a road closed sign and though a flooded street. The car stalled shortly after passing through. With all the rain last night, it may be in the middle of the puddle. He'd better not get my car stuck!. 2 creeks flooded the road leading up here. There is a back route in, but he did not want to drive the additional 5 miles. Last summer the state spent over half a million yo try and keep those streams from ripping out the road. It has happened twice in 4 years. I don't think the road is ripped, but it sure did flood again!

That bell is awesome!! I'd have to have one with a rooster hanging from it. How much would ya sell me one for?...if you were selling them....

I sold this one for $70.00. That is for the bell, the post mount bracket and the sun. Yes I can make them with a chicken. Maybe we could get RonB to post a pic of the chicken I made him. I can also do yard / garden signs. I have also also made memorial plaques for police K-9. I was also very honored when I was asked to make a memorial plaque for some friends infant grand son. They had bought several pieces of my work and ask if I would do that. I felt very honored that some one thought my work was good enough for something so special.

I think that that - with the bracket too - is a very fair price. What an honor to make the plaque...they knew you where good, but how sad that is.

I would love to see the chicken ornament. Do you have photos or pictures of the other ornamental part that you have made or can make?

OK this is a fast message, we have had lightening strikes right around us CLOSE since 5 A.M. and the gusts of accompanied winds have blown over all sorts of crapola all over the yard.
Lost TV cable but probably a sat dish got hit in Aberdeen.
We never lost power and we are all ok but gotta get off the puter as another storm is overhead...DANG!!!!!!!!!!

That is a very reasonable price.I would also be interested in seeing a picture of the memorial plaques.I've been looking into something like that, for a memorial for my son that was killed by a drunk driver 6 yrs ago.

Illia, I got the same here... About 15 minutes of thunder/lightening, followed by hours of heavy winds & rain... It was so loud, that I think I only got about 3 hours of sleep... I'm still sleepy and I'm on cup 2 of coffee... For the past couple hours its been dry here, but there are trees down all over the place. Had to drive under one this AM in DH's car... My truck wouldn't have cleared the tree. It was cleaned up when I came back home though! People are quik to cut up downed trees around here, as long as its not more then 5' off the white line, its legal to cut and collect wood.

I sleep pretty soundly so I don't know if we got the thunder/lightening here, but when I got up this morning, it was POURing down rain.

I have to get off my lazy butt and head up to the feed store. We're out of feed now. I have them scratch this morning, which they were happy with for the time-being, but I'm sure they'll get hungry soon! I'll have to check out Chicken Rustler's bell while I'm there

Ugh! I still have yet to plant the garlic... Going to do it this weekend though.

My Dad scolded me and said it may just rot in the ground now...as long as it stay warm it may do OK< cover with leaves or fine straw, and if it gets cold, he said tack clear plastic over the box...or a row cover~

Great idea, I have covered mine in straw and put a row cover over that to keep the straw from blowing away but should help keep the ground a little warmer. The cold will definately come just hope it holds off a while. My garlic was in the warm greenhouse for about a month before I planted and was a little greening at the tips so maybe got a head start that way. Crossing my fingers.

For anybody wanting to put sand in your coop / run. Watch for people who got sand bags for the flood and will be wanting to get rid of them. Just keep in mind that if the bags have been in the water for a while they will probably rip out and be very hard to deal with. I will be watching my local area.

Yes I have one of Chicken Ruslters beautiful Chimes (bell). with a chicken. I have it hanging on the barn. Man did it ring last night. the wind really blew. we lost power around midnight. still off. a big transformer blew up a mile down the street. Good thing I have a generator that can run my whole house:thumbsup.

My son called at 1:00am to tell us that the wind just blew his awning completely off his trailer.

Well, the storm has passed us (Washington) however we should all currently be experiencing a LOT of HEAVY showers here and there. . . And wind.

Looks like we might catch some sun later on though. . .
