It'll come. Hopefully will just be a warning bite, and not 'going for blood' bite. Until you get cat-like reflexes (pardon the pun), you may end up with a few. Although mostly scratches... It just comes with the territory. Best of luck! I miss that field of work at times. Unfortunately didn't pay enough to support my lifestyle. So humans are my patients now, no longer the 'client'. Puppy & Kitten Seasons are always the best!

Well, yesterday I got to witness a bit of the "caution". Had a dog come in that had to have his nails clipped. Old man with his old dog.....first thing the man tells me is that the dog needs a muzzle.

They ended up knocking the dog out (sleepy puppy) to clip his nails so he would behave...big dog with a nasty behavior.

Ah yes, of course. Thank you! It always makes sense once it's spelled out for me.

LOL....that's alright...I had no clue what it meant. I thought it meant something like black and white.

No way ! You ? You have been here all this time ???

Did you ride at the track? My first job out of college was at a Thoroughbred breeding farm near Del Mar Race track in Cali. We took the long yearlings and broke them and got them going around the track decent then they shipped them off to Del Mar track to finish their training. Dang that was fun. Those horses were fast and it made your eyes water. Sure was hard to get used to having my knees in my chest though. Big time cramps. Wasn't trained to sit in those skimpy racing saddles. Had always rode Western up to that point. Oh well, riding is riding and a job is a job so I couldn't complain.

Your paintings are awesome!

My very first horse was 16 hands. I used to swing up on him bare back. Went to summer camp one year and they had some draft horses. My best friend told the Wranglers I could swing up on them bare back and they didn't believe her so they told me to prove it. The look on their face was priceless when I swung up on one of them. Did you ever ride like the wind on the trails, bareback, shorts and bare feet? We were so dumb and fearless then, but we had soooo much fun. There was nothing better than riding back then. We went everyday all summer. OK, enough nostalgia, makes me cry. I'm getting old. Even try to get the junior rodeo kids to get on my green horses for the first few times as at my age, it hurts more when you fall and it takes longer to recover.

Beautiful photo. I no longer have horses, used to have a buckskin mare whose sire was Diamond (someone) I just don't remember...it was so long ago. She was a beautiful AQHA. I got her as a 3 yo, but I was too interested in boys. She would have made a great barrel horse. She had the bloodlines for it. Her name was Jewel.

With names like that I bet she had Diamond Jim in her bloodlines. Diamond Jims sire was Painted Jewel. These are APHA so not sue how it factored in to your AQHA since AQHA didn't allow overo paints in the registry until a few years ago. Maybe just a coincidence.
