I know I picked up the stuff to do it but I have so many coops it might be unsafe with 10 or 15 extention cords. Thanks touugh. I think I might make a few and see how they do.

Just let us know any questions you have and what your looking for and most likely we can help and point out someone local who has what your looking for! many of us have chicks right now as well as in the spring. Also many have pullets and adult birds.

Are you going to want a rooster as well to help protect the flock as well as fertilize eggs to hatch?

If it is a low wattage bulb you should be able to wire a light bulb tin per coop all on 1 string. unless your coops are far from each other and spread out. kind of like Christmas lights only with more space between bulbs.

Buy a Snuggle Safe (about $25), stick it in your microwave for a few minutes then put your water on top of it. It is supposed to stay warm for 10 to 12 hours, most of that at 120 degrees.

I don't do that, but I heard from others that it works. I use large bottles that are for rabbits and such and just switch them out a lot. I also have the nipple waterers, but the chickens prefer the pet bottle. They are easy to switch out, and the water stays clean.
