Trying to get that Beetle to swim cracked the engine block. The repair estimate is $10,000!!!, and the water was only about 3 inches deep! Insurance is writing it off as a total loss, as that is about the value of the car. Time to hunt for another used Beetle TDI. DH is furious, and I'm sick of driving him around everywhere. I guess that plastic card will forever have a high debt on it. Seemes like such a waste. The car never had any problems, and other than needing a bath and shampoo, it was in great shape.

I had a hen with bumblefoot. I was told to put her on systemic antibiotics, plus drain and wrap the foot and keep the wrap on with daily changes. It went away. I don't know if it was the wrap or the oral antibiotics but .. it went away. coulda been all the special treats she was gettin' too.

I don't crush all the way to powder, and I put them in with their oyster shell. Powder I'd mix with their food.

most everything turns out great but I've had a few bombs.

BBQ sauce... a couple bottles..
seared ribs.. or other seared meat.
place in crock pot
cover with BBQ
crock pot it till ya get home. and it falls off the bones!

chicken
cover with cream of mushroom soup, couple cans with half the water
add salsa
crock pot it...

seared meat, or left over sausages
potatoes
carrots
onions
any veggies
water to cover
packet of onion soup mix and what ever spices you like

those are kinda my "standards"

Oh yeah I've done 24hrs on some pots due to getting stuck at work etc..

Most every crock pot I have had has a "warm" transition. So if the "cook" has finished and you are not home yet it keeps the meal warm for a number of hours. I love my gargantuian crock pot.

Well you guys are always talking about your muddy pens....my problem right now is it is warming and freezing. So during the day, things drip and melt. Then it freezes at night. Not so much slush as there is an ice skating rink in my run. Poor little hens all need to be fitted for ice skates. I can just see all my little Dorothy Hamils out there....triple back (whatever it is called)....LOL.
