When I was married to my first husband, I had a problem with him taking my tools out of the kitchen drawer, and not putting them back. One day, he opened the drawer, and asked if that was a new screwdriver. I said it was, and I was going to keep buying new ones until I could open the drawer, and find one there. He started returning my tools to the drawer.

Ha! Glad to know I'm not the only one hiding my tool box! After years of not being able to find the tools I wanted because DH's are such an unattractive, unorganized mess, I finally started buying the things I used most often. Of course, he would find them, use them and then I'd never see them again or I'd find them months later in a completely random place. Now I have my pretty little toolbox hidden in my closet under the clothes rack. When I need something it comes out to serve it's purpose, then goes right back in it's perfect little hiding place. Makes my life so much easier to just have my own tools hidden than to have to gripe at DH. Or gripe at him for that anyway. After 20 years, we pick our battles I guess. The small things we just find devious ways to work around.

When my sister retired from the forest service, she agreed with you. She moved to Ellensburg. I keep trying to convince her to get all wheel drive, because she comes across the mountains a lot to see our parents.

Very true but you get to experience ALL 4 seasons unlike here in the swamp on the west. I hate this 11 1/2 months of rain. Yes I am ogginally from Eastern Ore and would love to be back on the other (east) side of the hill.

Living on this side of the Mtns....this is very true too. It greatly depends on what you want your lifestyle to be and what you can do. I used to do medical transcription from home (hated it). There are lots of nice people here, though, and all walks of life.

yup ~ and I wanna move 'home' in the worst way! I MISS MISS MISS that side.

Cute!

Reminded me of this from 2004 .... when my little 2 yo found scissors and some permanent markers just days before going to California to visit with several of my cousins who were visiting from Holland.

I am sure you were not laughing then, but ya know that every momma goes through it. (and daddies too). My daughter never wrote on her face (I don't remember) but she did cut her hair. Very crooked.

I think I might cry on the day Chloe gets ahold of scissors. She has the most gorgeous ringlets.

I went to Ballard today and going downhill I came across a street that was completely ice, at least a half inch easily. There were people trying to drive up it, it was one of those that the lane ios blocked so only one at a time can go. I waited for them to give up, and helped them give up by driving to the start of the one lane, and they backed up and left. I just rolled down it and when I got the dry part it stopped. Why people are so stupid I will never know, but by and large they cannot drive here in the snow. I dont think it makes a difference where they are from when they are running into things sideways doing 45. Even in Ohio trhere were bad snow drivers, but there there seems to be more careless drivers or overzealous drivers in the snow. I try to stay at home if I can when it snows.

There is a couple that moved here from Oahu, they said the economy is bad there too. They were looking forward to teh snow, it snowed, and they had enough lol. They look terribly cold quite often. They are not used to the cold, luckily it hasnt been all that cold so far this year. Its fairly mild here considering what the other parts of the country can see.

Who else is going to the Third Place Books on Thursday at 7 PM?
