When I was married to my first husband, I had a problem with him taking my tools out of the kitchen drawer, and not putting them back. One day, he opened the drawer, and asked if that was a new screwdriver. I said it was, and I was going to keep buying new ones until I could open the drawer, and find one there. He started returning my tools to the drawer.

Ha! Glad to know I'm not the only one hiding my tool box! After years of not being able to find the tools I wanted because DH's are such an unattractive, unorganized mess, I finally started buying the things I used most often. Of course, he would find them, use them and then I'd never see them again or I'd find them months later in a completely random place. Now I have my pretty little toolbox hidden in my closet under the clothes rack. When I need something it comes out to serve it's purpose, then goes right back in it's perfect little hiding place. Makes my life so much easier to just have my own tools hidden than to have to gripe at DH. Or gripe at him for that anyway. After 20 years, we pick our battles I guess. The small things we just find devious ways to work around.
