You got me beat. I've seen re-runs, but I think they stopped airing it by the time I was born in '67; but I do remember watching a different talking horse:
Charley and Humphrey - I think these may have only been aired in San Francisco.

I've never even heard of Topo Gigio ... looks like "Stewart Little."

DH has a few years on me, so we grew up watching totally different shows. He can't believe I don't know who TopoGigio is. He did not get ABC in northern Minnesota, but remembers some shows from when he lived in New Jersey in the early 60's. My mom did not let us watch TV, so the thing came on as soon as she left to go to work! Dad was cool about the TV, but even he was terified of an angry mom!

We had to go play with friends on Saturday mornings, so we could watch the cartoons (and all those commercials!Cheerios are what stick in my head the most, oh, and Trix for kids, something with a rooster...) Mom thought both cartoons and pre-packaged breakfast cereals would rot our brains. Of course I have all the cartoons I missed growing up on DVD now so my kids can watch them. I did not notice back then how horribly sexist The Flintstones and The Jetsons were.

You stated this is the wrong thread to talk chicken on, could you let me know where I should post questions? I'm am VERY eager to learn, and the social stuff is nice, but I get more than enough of that on the dog boards... (sigh) so please direct me to "education" department! : )

He was here the morning of the 19th for breakfast. The old boy was spoilt, he got warm scrambled eggs everyday with his special senior dog food. He ate, went out, and was not seen again. He didn't even show up at Granpa Carls for his lunch time snack... Grandpa Carl is a neighbor of ours, who has known Lucky sense he was a pup, hia property piggy backs my mothers place.

I just need to remember that 22 years old is OLD for a dog. He lived a long healthy and happy life. Would play and run around like he was a hyper puppy! I will always remember him, and his goofy dog grin with his big 'ol slobbery jowels. He was a wonderfull dog, who helped raise many kids, and even more pups! He was such a cool old dog. Would go to the end of the property down to the salmon stream, catch and carry home fish! He loved babies! Any kind of baby, rabbitt, rodent, human, bird, it didn't matter to him. If it was a baby he knew it, and would love on it and care for it. I swear that old boy wanted to be a momma some times.

Yes 22 is ancient. We didnt believe his age at first, until I personally took him to the Vet 3 years ago for a check up and shots. And the Vet says, "I know this dog. He's 19 years old! I cant believe he is still alive!" Lucky had seen the same Vet for his entire life, and is... Well, was darn old. He lived a long and happy life. And if you are at all curious as to what breeds he is... Well he is / was 1/2 black lab, 1/4 german sheppard, and 1/4 wolf. At least thats what his Vet said was the results of the genetics test done quite a few years ago. And I am guessing that the little bit of wolf he had in his bloodlines is why he lived for so long?...

This is a place to talk chicken, but for specialized questions, there are specialized threads. Go to the forum index and look over all the different threads. Pick out the appropriate one.
