Exactly! This last Thanksgiving we had purple mashed potatoes and the normal orange yams/sweet potatoes. Beautiful pairing of colors on a plate!

Well of course but that's not what these were. she fixed em to eat fresh or like to put on burgers. Grandma use to always peel her tomatoes for some reason.

To me it just seemed like way too much work for nothing.

CR I love boiled peanuts with cayenne peppers in them. I took some to work and they all about gagged saying they was all soft and mushy lol. Thy prefer roasted peanuts up here. I like me some boiled peanuts. Some salt and some cayenne pepper, I guarantee they are some good eating.

Fried green tomatoes are good too. Bttered and fried with some salt and pepper. Corn meal is the best to dip the in after they have been dredged in egg batter.

Yes, and I grow yellow 'maters every year. Hubby cannot handle the acid of the Reds. He has a large slicing variety and then we get a pear that are yellow. Every night when he would get home from work....straight to garden to graze for a good half hour. yellow pear tomatoes were at the top of the list

There are actually about a dozen different varieties of green tomatoes. In fact there are pink, orange, purple, red, yellow, green, and multicolored tomatoes. . .

We ourselves have over 12 varieties of tomatoes, all of different kinds. The most awesome of all in my opinion is an old variety called Reisetomate. The picture shows ONE tomato, believe it or not. They are very tasty for fresh eating and great for pulling apart as a snack.

For saving seeds how do you keep them from cross pollinating?

Well we had a pretty good trip to Portland yesterday. The prices for copper, brass and aluminum are the highest I have ever seen.
