We breed Swedish ducks, Black, Silver and Blues. We've never once seen a black egg from them, they lay an off white or slightly greenish egg. According to the ALBC, they can also lay blueish eggs, ours never have.

That reminds me when we lived in Cali near my DH's family. They are Mexican and I used to joke about when they came to visit, how many will show up. One time they came in a mini pick up and I thought good, theres only a couple then when they pulled up about 10 more climbed out of the canopy on the back of the pick up!
It is still going on.
They keep calling for huevos, and Pollo se vende ?
Mario came this morning with yet another freind, a Laotian couple...they could barely speak English either, oh now come on !
Can someone please speak English ?
It was difficult as she really wanted my breeding stock and really wanted the lemon blue cochins (not for $20 !!!)
But we got it figured out..she bought 6 pullets and I gave her a free cockeral and she was so happy.
They are coming back for chicks in a few weeks as they have no brooder.
I am out of birds for sale, have zero extra cocks, and an empty coop to get ready for the new birds growing out.
Lol its a chicken buying free for all!
I sold my 6 mutt chicks and the blue splash maran from your eggs the first batch chickielady.
got people coming for 2 roosters and 2 more hens and I'll have a empty grow out coop and a empty brooder!
I told myself I'm not gonna hatch more eggs until all my brooders/grow outs are empty
Still got to find a good home for Roadkill tho... hes such a sweet boy I wanna see him a good home rather then the stew pot.
btw here is the splash in a grumpy photo. she is very pretty and in her new home she will be the prized pet of the youngins!

Wow - just googled Cayuga duck eggs. Those are beautiful eggs! Ducks look pretty cool too. I'd love to have ducks. Wonder if DH would consider moving to a place with more property to humor me? We've been in this place 20 years. Maybe it's time for a change.

Yes, thanks for letting me know. She does have ducks and I'm pretty sure she has Cayuga. Can't find her now. Pretty sure they are up at Steven's, skiing and boarding. I really want to hatch some of the eggs out. You guys are making me crazy with all the talk of selling chicks and hens!! I want some so bad but am surely not ready housing wise. EEEE!! I feel like when I walk into a yard sale: "Okay, everybody, step away from the merchandise! Don't touch a thing till I've had a look." And now, here are all these wonderful birdies leaving without me getting a crack at em.
I can only hope I have my "ship" together when you are letting go of more "merchandise".
It's snowing here. Been snowing all day off and on. Now the temp is dropping quickly so I expect slicker'n slick roads soon. i just got out of the snow a couple of days ago. After the driveway was clear and my friend brought me my new tabs, my beloved truck won't start. Pretty sure it is the fuel pump. 2001 S10 dual cab, short bed. I love my truck so much and I am going to have to figure out how to get it fixed. Out of chicken feed so everybody is eating cooked rolled barley (feed variety) and pinto beans and brown rice. And wheat berries. And wild bird seed that falls out of the feeders. And peanuts. I know everyone is getting food but still wish I had the real thing.
Whine Whine Whine...
Done whining for now.
