Hello fellow chicken (& duck) fanciers! Been busy making a quilt for my youngest DD this past week.

Just listed a bunch of cockerels & roosters on Craigslist: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/grd/2151036490.html

Hope
I have the same luck selling these as some other folks have had lately!

I also ordered a Brinsea Octagon 20 ECO incubator the week before last. Had a discount code plus the sale they had going, I couldn't resist! Although they are back ordered until end of January. I thought that by ordering it, it will force me to wait until it gets here before hatching any more. I am having hatching withdrawls!!!!

Bring on the snow!!! The girls and I have been busy sewing. We're ready for a few snow days. Anybody have any tonight?

I have noticed that some people here have pygmy goats. I have a disbudding iron that needs a home if anybody could use it. And I can teach ya how to disbud if ya don't know how to.
I will consider most any offer except in-laws, out-laws or roosters.

I was just gonna say you would make a good wife....I am worn out...can I just hire you to cook for me? There are 5 of us....Me, DH, and the 5 litten's....but the way the oldest litten' is 6'2" and 240 lbs, the second litten' is 5'10" and 150 lbs....the youngest is only 9...don't have a clue how much she weighs. And I sure as HECK am not telling you how much I weigh.

thanks Jen for thinking of me this past week.

CR and CL...yes, lovin the new job and it is very satisfying. I am really enjoying myself.....but (this is weird) I am still busy with the real estate and I have 3 deals going on right now...how crazy is that. I may have to decide between one job or the other.....I really like the vet's office. I have been talking to the tech on how she got her license and how to go about doing it...we will see.

Okay, on another note....Jen....I agree with CR

Most of the time I don't log on, I just lurk.
I'm logging on just because I think it's high time that I tell you, Chicken Rustler, that you make me laugh out loud. I'm going to try and remember this line of yours. Thanks for brightening my day, again.
And, now that I'm on, would you mind sharing your pea seafood salad recipe?

Was is SadieSue looking for coop ideas? Here's a link to a page with some of ours: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=22465-our-pallet-coop-duplex

We
started with a walk in shed that we converted into a coop. We like the raised coops better. We just roll a wheelbarrow up to the "man-door" and clean out with a rake or hoe or metal dust pan. Just don't make it too deep that you can't reach into the far corners. With the coops built on the ground, you can get rats, weasels and what not living underneath. With the raised coops, the birds can get shelter from the sun/rain underneath.
