I would go with a heritage breed. I have raised Narragansett, Bourbon Red, Royal Palm, Standard Bronze, Giant Whites and Midget White. I have been told the Midget White are very friendly. I have always had my turkeys with my chickens. My Giant White got to big to be with the chickens so I put him with the goats. He would step on a chicken and the chicken could not get free, he weigh 51 pounds. Turkeys are not that smart, you put your turkeys with your chicken so your chicken can teach your turkeys how to live. It seem like turkeys are always looking for a way to died. As to what breed to raise just find a heritage breed you like and go with it. When we get out there we will be doing Narragansett and Midget White. You will have better luck buying poult or a breeding pair then eggs.

And Yes I own one. But hey when some one offers to give ya a 1 ton truck with a 12' flat bed and all ya have to do is drive it home who is gonna say no regardless of the hood ornament. I can change the ornament and in fact have the ornament and grill from an IHC that I will be putting on it (just because the GMC grill is broke).

Dont get me wrong. I LOVE OLD fords, but the newer ones, I'm not so hot on.

I might have to buy one, as I have a hard time squezing hard enough to cut through the cans... If I buy one then my DH can open all the cans for me!
