T-Hi we will be here as far as I know on Saturday!!,
Unless Bolddogkennel has 6 days worth of eggs for me to set, then we will be running to Oly area to meet up with her, maybe McCleart, visit my folks and meet up with her for BLRW eggs.
But, that leaves us home on Sunday...so one day or another we will be here.
And all the duckies should be hatched by then !

Do the cone it is much easier and less mess IMO. Just put a bucket under make a little slice and hold the head still so they don't splatter everywhere. We plan on me making a metal cone with stand for us and the neighbors to use in the future.

We use a traffic cone that has been modified for the purpose. We also are very careful to collect all the by-product. With 5 nasty little dogs and one Very large hound, we are careful to not to create a mess that they will take advantage of. DH is very good at burying the waste remains of the victims. He alway puts a few fairly heavy paving stones over the covered hole. So far we have not had any of the stuff dug up.

It would be a very bad for me if they got past the bricks.

How old are they? I may be interested (along with that roo and some others)

Here's the irony. "That Roo" - Is the second black pullet.

Yes, I actually sexed my own bird wrong. . . I mean, really, this little gal is just now telling me she's a girl, after the longest time of having, and still having, a huge bright red comb, very iridescent feathers, a thin neck, and a boyish voice. Nope, she's a girl! The other two boys already have saddle and hackle feathers coming in, and her back is completely smooth and saddle free, plus her tail is exactly as a pullet's tail should be.

So, she's 3 months old, the other one is exactly 1 year old.

I now apparently do not have any Ameraucana cockerels available. . .

Oh and did I ever mention? Yesterday a herd of Elk came through our pasture, and had my Yak on high guard. He's never seen Elk before, so he just stood there, staring straight at them. . . They did their own business in the very back, then once they saw me, they inched away and into the neighbor's forest, leaping right over my fence without touching it.

So I have been running around work all day yelling that I'm a Grandma!!!

Everyone LOVES the pictures!!

If you want me to do a meet up in Olympia to pick up the eggs I can! I have to go through Oly to get to your place anyways!!!

Hi Everyone!

Will any of you have any Olive Egger and Ameraucana chicks available for purchase this spring? I would love to hatch eggs, but definitely cannot this year. I would love 6-10 chicks in March...I'm willing to drive quite a ways...
