Alright, I am now going to be the "dumpsite" of anyone's extra/cull roosters for the peninsula.

Looks like I'll be asking and needing for any extra free roosters out there, so, that's gonna be a lot of roosters to home. Thank goodness I won't bother the neighbors though; Most of them will be dead within 3 days of arriving. LOTS of culling for me to do. . .

( I'm collecting a bunch of roosters to supply my dogs some food. We're moving to feed them a raw diet now. Provides them enzymes and a healthier, more natural diet. I'm certainly not looking forward to feeding them corn, wheat, and/or soy again. )

That is why it is such a scary thought. She has driven the Loup so many times she probably could do it in her sleep. Where in Winthrop did you work? I worked at the Riverside Rib Co. - many, many, many years ago.

I worked for Beauty Schools Directory--it was an online business....it was in the Windemere building (upstairs) then the boss dude sold it to a company back east for like $10 million or so. Right before that I got the job with the county...


I'm doing a little bit better...the morning sickness has been easing up a little bit but has been replaced by terrible acid-reflux and heartburn.

My goodness, you're on the other side of the mountains? That I didn't realize. Well, on Feb 2nd I have a friend who's coming up to Seattle and may be willing to bring them up, but otherwise, I don't know how I can help you.

IF I have room, I am leaving for the Methow on Thursday afternoon.... Keep in mind I have a jeep wrangler, loaded with ski gear and a 14 yo boy.. he takes more stuff than I do!!

i am not very good at logistics and coordinating and i realize me constantly being the middle person (mom would be getting them from the closest point the chickens can get) for communicating transit is not the best.

to coordinate the picking up of chickens please contact my mom, she has done the logistic thing before when rescuing cairn terriers from this rescue group we belong to. and i do not know her schedule of availability...

I do not have much practice in this sort of thing and its hard to coordinate when in WSU and not actually getting to see them in person till i have a good weekend to get away from here.

most people would say getting eggs to hatch would be easier, but i do not have an incubator and its too risky to try a natural hatch (and i am not allowed to get an incubator, yet.)

Thank you to the people who are volunteering and willing to help out. This could be a real Chicken Chain thread!. or something like the movie "The Transporter".... could you imagine Jason's face if he was offered a chicken to transport?

i'm off to bed. btw. an entomology lab where we had to examine dissected grasshoppers and cockroaches really kills ones appetite for the rest of the day. it doesn't help with how they described some organs so we could figure out what we were looking at. "spaghetti-looking"..... ew.
