what kind of carniverous beasties does she feed raw meat to ?
Gross !

Miniature Schnauzers

Oh that is gross !
My mother buys organic chicken thighs, cooks them in water, cools, skims the fat and skin, bones the meat and saves the broth and meat for her Molly Dog...a rescue Black Lab...never feed any dog raw meat ...the diseases alone should teach her that, not to mention it is easier to bone and feed cooked meat.

This time of year they will take any opportunity to take a cleansing flight. Basically honeys don't fly much below 50*. If it is a weak colony they could be searching for food by now.

IF you do put out sugar syrup make sure to USE ONLY PUER CANE SUGAR NOT beet sugar. Also this time of year the mix should be 2 parts sugar 1 part water. Easiest way to make this is heat the water to almost boiling then slowly stir in sugar. Make sure it is all dissolved and let it cool before serving.

I used honey.
I do honey 50-50% with warm water to dilute, stir and set in a clean dish with a low rock in it so's a bee cannot drowned in it.
I did watch 'them' and they are looking very hard for a 'place' so it could be that once again it is FOOTBALL season !!
If so, ya better have a box when I calls ya!!!

I tried using raw sugar in humming bird feeders, and the birds would not go to the feeders! The nectar went bad quickly.

Just tell me what I can bring!!

You can give honey straight. That is really the best thing ya can feed em. It is really the wrong time for them to swarm and even if they did they would probably be gone before I could make that 11/2 hr trip. Not to mention that makes an expensive box of bees.
