I believe it....ya' know that has to be true...CL's DH is a daddy-duck. I'll bet this little guy does not bond with the other quakers when they are hatched...he is now a "people quaker".

I showed DW the pics of Mr. Chickielady and told her I thought that some of those little ducks would be fun.

At that Dw ask if she needed to re-introduce me to the 12" cast iron skillet that I keep in the oven.

I don't think any of those little quackers are in my near future.

Why not? You could have duck eggs and goose eggs too, and you wouldn't even need a goose!

Shared your story with the Dw .. she laughed and said for me not to get attached either

I am so sorry CR....someone has to watch out for us "addicts"...I mean collectors...I mean hoarders...wait, I mean avian ranchers...Hmmmm does any of that make sense? Anyway, someone has to watch out that we "collectors" don't go over board. Hey, maybe she meant the cast iron skillet was for the culls....meaning dinner. You could try that route.

Nope that aint gonna work either. After helping the neighbors process some hens I told DW that we will be needing to do that in the next few months to year. And her reply was NO we can take em to the sale or give em away but not gonna kill em.

Now the neighbor has informed me that she is "renting my room" to raise her new chicks this year. Ya see I have an area about 8'x10' in the barn that I made for raising chicks.
