Maybe I will have to give the Moonshine starter a try. I have never had this kind of cake starter before, but I have plenty of fruit cocktail for making the starter. If it works I will have to find someone to eat the cake. I am not very fond of cake, and DH can take it or leave it also. Maybe the kids next door will eat cake. I have been thinking about pulling some cookie dough out of the freezer and baking a few of them up. If I bake them tonight DH will be home tomorrow sometime to help eat them. I just don't need the calories, but that doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. lol

Serama Variety = SUUUPRIZZZE!

i have two blk/wht roos.. one of those is in with two blk tail buff hens (one silkied, one frizzled-although, I don't know that the silkie is laying at this time yet), and two of his daughters that are colored a little like fall leaves, with some frost lol!.. If you go to my blog, and go look at the serama's you'll see what I mean. I am not caring much about color, but am trying to work more on type. The other blk/wht mottle boy is in the main yard with a tri-color mottle-who when you look at his picture, his type looks awful--but it really isn't. He stands up nice when he isn't being nervous about the camera. I am working with him. In the main yard the hens are: blue lace, black and a tri mottle. Although the tri-mottle has molted out almost white which is bizarre. Maybe she will actually become all white and I will have an 'official' Serama

Curious-er is a good way to describe me most of the time! LOL I've been thinking about Seramas, because our Faverolles bantams are really too big for DS to handle really well yet, and the Ameraucana bantams...well, they're crazy. LOL He really wants some Japanese, but I can't stand to look at them, so....no.

Anyway, what do you want for the Serama eggs? I'd also probably have to have you ship them down, unless someone is coming this way... Thanks!

If he would just be nice to the little girl all would be well but his last mate died during a storm (I think she flushed and either damaged her head or had a heart attack)
So I think he's still just PO'd at the world.

Going way out on a limb here, is it possible that being there was no noise, the locked gate was opened, no mess anywhere, could it have been a different type of thief, a "human" thief ?

I think that I want pictures.
I have a banty frizzle, she lays to cutest little eggs. I also kept a gold with a black tail banty, but I am still not certain that it is a hen. It doesn't crow, but it is still fairly young. I should just go ahead and post pictures on the What is this thread.

It's the same Dawn. Sorry I'm really bad at socializing online but came on to see what happened to your chickens. It's OK if you want to hold on to your birds, my daughter is just registering for 4H now and wanted her project to be breeding chickens so we just wanted a bigger gene pool. I'm totally OK with you keeping your chicks if you want to. We lost one laying hen to the neighbors dog and it was horrible, I couldn't imagine losing almost the entire flock. I'll try to remember to check back and keep track of whats going on, Dawn.
