I'm sitting here trying to think of what to write to my Uncle in Holland who just joined Facebook .... I think he's in his mid 80's. I'm a bad niece. I used to write fairly frequently, then FB came along and I stopped using stamps, now BYC came along and I stooped using FB!

Hmmm, what to say.....

Well I had my interview today. I am not sure it went so well. First they had me fill out ANOTHER 6 page app then they threw me 2 surprise electrical tests each 3 pages. Then I was hammered by 2 women. Then they said they didn't get my resume electronically so I politely showed them how to read the replys they get from work source. I also offered to get a real copy of my resume from my truck and at first they said yes but then continued the interview. When they were finally done I offered to get the resume from my truck and they said no that they didn't need it at this time. They will wait and have me bring it if I make the second round of interviews. Commonly known as too bad sucker yer out.

Oh man, that sucks. I hate those surprise tests! I don't have an e-resume either... guess I should put one together. I somehow got hired without an interview ... each manager thought the other had done the interview! No resume. But it is a nearly minimum wage job. My friend who was laid off from Microsoft went to about a dozen job interviews before he was hired about a year later. He was using a head-hunting service to help out. After an interview that he thought went exceptionally well, he was called and told he did not get the job... he asked for feedback. One of the people interviewing him responded that he was too enthusiastic, the other not enthusiastic enough! I hope something good comes along soon!

Love it !!! only it may take another 5 years before that happens! I love my uncle, but my relationship with all my relatives is rather distant . I grew up not knowing any of them as my parents were the only family to leave Europe, my parents were also much younger than their brothers and sisters, so I never really knew my cousins either. We are all starting to connect on facebook, but how do catch someone up on the last 44 years? (... and then there is my mom "you sholdn't answer them, they are probably just planning an American vacation and are looking for a free place to stay! I know my family, and I doubt they have changed much!") So what. At least I'd get to meet them! My uncle I've met a few times; though last time I saw him, I was 16. We did contine to write each other a few times a year until just recently. He used to travel and trek through the mountains all over the world, but he can't move around much anymore ... still works in his beautiful gardens, but has been sad when he realised he could no longer breathe while trekking, and would have to give it up for good. I'm sure he can use some letters more than ever now.

That all sounds like very good news! I always loved hearing my baby's heartbeat - even more fun when my appointment was right after lunch and she had the hiccups! Glad to hear all was okay...
