) the kinda looks like a lawn mower on steroids..and it EATS 4" trees !
He said he would bring it out here..but I do not know if I could run it or if it would throw the chickielady across the proper-T.
I have a bizillion worms in my compost/manure pile ON THE GROUND...no ice cheast, no screens and they came uninvited.
But if Rainwolf wants a box of worms I can ship some to you in a coffee can ya know!

Looks like we are in for another exciting weather day; and the snow starts Sunday (so far it is still calm here, but I put extra bungees on the tarp in preparation. Painting the interior of the new coop this afternoon.):

A DISTURBANCE MOVING AROUND A DEEP UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE NORTHEAST PACIFIC WILL MOVE ONTO THE COAST AROUND 830 AM THIS MORNING AND REACH THE INTERIOR LOWLANDS BETWEEN 930 AM AND NOON.

THE AIR MASS IS COLD AND UNSTABLE AND THERE WILL BE A GOOD DEAL OF WIND SHEAR ALOFT AS THIS DISTURBANCE MOVES THROUGH THE AREA. THIS COMBINATION SUPPORTS THE FORMATION OF STRONG AND ROTATING THUNDERSTORMS THAT MAY PRODUCE COLD-AIR FUNNEL CLOUDS...SMALL HAIL...AND WIND GUSTS TO 45 MPH.

COLD AND UNSTABLE AIR WILL CONTINUE TO STREAM INTO THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL STRONG THUNDERSTORMS BEHIND THE INITIAL MORNING IMPULSE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL BE MONITORING THE SITUATION CLOSELY AS IT UNFOLDS AND WILL ISSUE STATEMENTS AND WARNINGS AS NEEDED. WE ARE ACTIVATING THE SKYWARN SPOTTER NETWORK AT THIS TIME

Old cooler.... check ...would a 55gallon rain barrel work if I left the spigot open? only coolers I have are rather small.
coffee grounds..... check (coffee shop up the street gives it away)
fine wire mesh.... how fine are we talking? like screen door fine? or 1/4 inch? or?

A 55 gal tub would involve more work, but doable. I guess the key is surface area and darkness. So a 55 gal drum cut in half and on its side would be best.

Weather is pretty mild in this corner of the state today....so far. I was going to make a trip to Longview today but I have to go tomorrow, so I'll wait and consolidate my trips.
A lady just came and picked up my "free chickens" that I put on Craigslist yesterday. The Polish rooster has been letting me know that he didn't like being confined in a dog carrier ever since...oh...about 3:00 AM. Glad to see them go! Now I have just Marans & Welsummers. (and 2 Columbian Wyandottes that I am keeping for a friend..)

My poor ducks are too light to be tossed around in the duck tractor if these high winds hit us again. I only got 50% of my eggs this morning

....OK so I only got 2 female ducks. Getting jees one egg is not as fun as geeting 2 eggs.
