We had maybe half an inch last night, and it's mostly gone. When I was out a little while ago, we had tiny ice pellets falling.

I haven't read the article yet, but I suspect pigs became domesticated when the hunters killed a sow with piglets, and took the piglets back to camp to eat later. Babies are generally easier to manage than adults.

That's exciting! Let me say I'm grateful to all of you for hatching eggs so that I can live vicariously through you without the worry.

So what kind of eggs did you buy and where did you buy them from?

I'm starting with some less expensive(but nice) cuckoo marans eggs, before I get real crazy with other breeds. I've been talking to daze333 for some time and just decided to plunge in with both feet! So, hopefully the eggs will be here tomorrow after making the short trip from Port Angeles. I'm very excited!

Oh and the snow is creepin up on 8 inches here on the hill! Had to use the 4WD to get out of the driveway!
Oh and I almost forgot... MY DH BROUGHT HOME CHICKEN MAGAZINES!!! He's crossed over and become my own personal enabler!

Good for DH!!!!

Ditto what Hallerlake said. I guess my DH is becoming an enabler as well, since he's building my coop IF THE WEATHER EVER COOPERATES. He listens nicely when I talk about when kind of chickens I'm going to get, is polite when I show him photos of chickens, or show him clever ideas for coops and feeders others have created. I babble on and on about chicken related topics and he listens, and nods his head in agreement. Only once or twice have I turned and found that he's dozed off while I've been chatting merrily about all things poultry related. That's not too bad.

Mr. Hallerlake does the same, but he's just pretending to listen.

I figure if he pretends to listen then I can pretend that he has agreed with what I just said & I can go ahead and build more coops and buy more ducks.
