It's 3 here now, but was -10 a while ago.

But sunny and gorgeous out. Too bad my eyeballs would freeze if I tried to go out and play.

They do make a knife for that but what I have done in the past is use a razor/utility knife with a new blade. Make a good score in the plexi glass then hold it on the edge of a table so the score is at the edge. Hold down hard on the part on the table and snap off the over hang. Done right it works great if not done so right

You can also use a fine toothed saw.

I forgot who it was that has the feeders made out of 5 gal buckets with holes in the sides. But who ever it is could you tell me what you used to cut the holes? I bought a bucket because I want to try it, but it's hard plastic and I am afraid of hurting myself!

Coldd morning! I looked jealously upon the two incubators and brooder in my room when I woke up this morning. I think when the babies hit 5 weeks I'm going to steal their heatlamp for myself

19 at my house this morning. no heat in my coop so the Serama come in the house for the night. They hang with me while I eat breakfast. They are worse beggars than my dogs!! really enjoy them. I still have about 6 inches of frozen snow and ice. didnt want them to freeze.

Larry and his girls, Rosie and Juliette.

Glad your birdies are safe now.

It's nice not to feel panicked every time I hear the dogs make a fuss at night! Still running out there every time though.

I put some little red flashing solar LED's around the new coop. They were on the Omlet cube until last night, and I had never noticed animal tracks right up next to the coop while the lights were blinking.

That's interesting. So it doesn't look like anything had approached the Omlet cube while you had the red flashing LED's on it? You think they were pretty effectively acting as a deterrent? I was considering those for our little fountain in the front yard as the installed underwater lamp keeps getting pulled out by some critter.

Thought maybe the flashing LED would keep it from messing around in the water.

Glad your birdies are safe in their new cabin!

Kim that would be Chickielady. I don't know how she did it but I can give ya some ideas until she pipes up. hole saw in a drill, sawzall, sabre saw, razor/utility knife, keyhole saw, (or large caliber gun

). however you do it just be careful and WEAR STURDY GLOVES.

They do make a device that has little red "eyes" that is supposed to deter critters. I think it is called nite eyes or something very similar. I know I have seen them for sale on several web sites.
