OK I am off to the warmth of the open air shed to work on the bell for olliecatch. Then one for Ogress. It's cold out there may just have to fire of the forge for a little warmth.

Our first pure bred springer, my baby, was Sadie. We called her Sadie Bug. We lost her last fall after 13 faithful years. Whenever I was outside, she was always right on my heels askin, "What can I do for you Mom?" Needless to say, I love the name Sadie.

We need to schedule the next secret cult meeting.....
I can meet up on Wed/Thurs/Fri in march.

Dunno if anyone has ever been to Beth's cafe but its open 24/7... Its a great grease joint but heck any place that can serve a 12 egg omelet, everything in it, served on a pizza platter of hash browns can't be all bad

I've been going there since knee high and I'm still alive

I miss Beths Cafe!!! At one point in time I was a regular there. lol I miss the city some times, but I refuse to raise my DD there... If we were to ever move back to the east side of the sound, I think we would wind up in South King county. But thats a HUGE IF!

If anyone ever comes over to the Kitsap Penninsula, send me a message! Its rare that anyone ventures out this way.

I have not been to Beths in at least 15 years ... used to love to go in at 3 am and people watch .. male? female? Human? from another planet?

From what you described I would say bobcat or cougar. You need to be VERY careful going out there in the dark. Bobcat would probably scare off. On the other hand if it was cougar it could have been still there watching you. Personally I would not nor would I recommend going out there unarmed. Most critters will scare off prety easy but cougar don't fall into the most catagory. DW's nephew had a near face to face (they were about 6-8' apart) with one here in Dec. And he said that kitty was not very happy. For what it's worth they say cougar is some of the best tasting meat. Yes people eat them.

I have to agree! Cougar meat is quite tasty! I also agree with CR. Be carefull! Ive come face to face with a cougar. Those are some BIG kitties!!!

Quite the shock at 6AM. Walk out the door, go to start the truck, look up, and there are those glowing amber colored eyes not 15-20 feet away... Scared the applesauce right out of me! There screams are terrifying also. Makes your hair stand up on end.

I think these were likely bobcat as they are too narrow for cougar. I see them failrly often out here ... beautiful, well fed, with redder fur and longer legs than the ones I would see in Woodinville. Gorgeous kitties. Had I thought of the cougar, I likely would not have gone out. When we first got Willow, she found a huge pile of bones in our yard ... elk and deer, from a cougar stash. They looked pretty old, but the neighbors dog emerged from the woods just outside our fence last fall with a fresh deer leg. It has been a couple years since I have seen a cougar out here, but they are still around. I usually am thinking bear because I spot them quite often, and they get over the fence in a hurry when I come out. (and Shasta will go after bears).

Well me and my fam. are off to Portland to take the kids to OMSI and pick up a mini fridge to make a homemade incubator out of. I guess that would be phase 2 of the addiction?

I won't do that anymore ... hadn't thought of the big kitty, but they are around here. My dogs don't usually bark their heads off without a reason. Every morning I've found tracks in the yard when they have had a fit at night. Usually raccoons, sometimes bears or bobcats. I figured it was too cold for the bears last night so I was thinking raccoons and bobcats when I went out.
