Well, I was just starting to read this forum from page one when it caught my eye that....um....it was over 2400 pages long! So, I'll leave my post and catch up later.
We are in Olalla (just on the Kitsap/Pierce line) and were adopted by a ragged looking chicken. One day I looked outside and there was this big, dumb bird perched on our fence. At first we just assumed she'd go away. A day later I threw her some bread peices, which the next day turned to bread and cheerio's. A week later she's still perching on our fence so we go to Cenex and buy a bag of scratch.
Two weeks go by and I'm starting to feel sorry for this goofy bird sitting outside in the cold. Now it's off to Home Depot to buy some 2x4's, osb, tarpaper, roofing, etc. All for some stupid chicken that somebody didn't want! Oh, and I had to buy a heat lamp and extension cord because as we all know, it snowed last week.
So now hear I sit at my computer, in our little office, with a box of chicks next to me while I type a post to some website about chickens at 1 am. Wow! I sure wish work would pick up some day, I have too much time on my hands! LOL
Needless to say, the daughter joined 4-H yesterday, I'm researching chickens, and it's a blast.
