Cheryl,
glad you didn't swerve....or you'll be posting about a smashed up car and higher premiums and no way of getting to work....or worse.
It is too bad for the beaver, but if it makes you feel any better, you could do something nice for the beaver or wild critter population in some other way??

Karma is a big circle. not a tiny dot.

I think its more that Im in shock that it was a BEAVER! Like I said. I have never even seen a beaver around here, and then I hit one this morning... Its just crazy to me. But then again, this area is growing alot, and alot of critters that we dont normally see are being noticed. If only due to the fact that people are building, and pushing them out of the woods... We also have a wild population of what once were captive bred mink. Then theres the "civic cat" its really a fisher cat, the fox's, the mountain beaver... All these small to medium sized critters that we dont normally see are popping up out of the woodwork, so to speak.

Now that its light out, I need to go check my car, and make sure theres no damage... That was a good solid thunk, to my undercarriedge.

Ive contacted one of the local tribal elders. He is on his way there to pick up the Beaver. There is a special ceremony that is performed for the tribes main totem animals, and he is the main go to person for injured/deceased critters around here. It really is a beautifully haunting ceremony to witness, and I feel quite honered to have been allowed to join a couple times in the past.

Thats just to funny!!! Love it CR!

It was my new avatar for a bit. But was so small ya couldn't see the text which I think makes it.
Yes cehck yer can a beaver is very solid and is like hitting a big rock..

And on the critters subject. For the last several days while cooking DW's breakfast I have been able to watch a bald eagle out the kitchen window. It is about 150 yards away. Some times there are 2 but the other is just getting it's white so it is still a juvenile! But since we rarely see it and this is here a lot I am thinking they may have a nest not far off. I hope so .... love to watch them. And I don't have much concern about our chickens since all my runs are enclosed. Now Michelle's are a different story as they are out free range in an un protected area. She does have a very good roo though. We watched him take the hens to cover one day when an eagle flew over.

Cowgirlgrace,
Do you have any more Coronation Sussex that you need to find homes for? Let me know

Ok heading to bed I think since its very quiet here. good night all

Mine were splits, they were getting new homes because they aren't really Coronations. Not using them for Sussex breeding though.

Oh ok

Hello my fellow Washingtonians! I'm from Vancouver out in the boonies and on the outskirts of Camas in SW WA. I was wondering if any of you know any bantam cochin breeders in WA or OR. I'm looking for mottled or mille fleur particularly, and will be getting a chick in May to add to the other girls I'm raising this spring.

Thanks in advance!
