Make sure your DH remembers that you did not buy birds in Monroe....so you have $$$ and space to play with so you can buy birds.

Anyone out there looking for a used gqf sportsman? It is in great shape has new seals and the humidity pail set up.

I am considering buying the all new digital "googliophonic" model and am thinking of selling the old one. PM me.

I just made GF chicken and dumplings. Was doubtful it would work when I looked at that odd looking dough made mainly of beans, but it worked, and better yet, the whole family loved it! (Not as yummy as brownies).

Olivia did poorly on the GF last week, her arms turned red again and her belly poofed up again. She ate lots of donuts at the chicken show (Grrrr!) and I was too tired to make lunch school mornings, so she bought her favorites at school: mac and cheese, Ivars clam chowder, and Wednesdays are "Breakfast for lunch" days, so she had pancake-on-a-stick. That just sounds wrong! I thought school food was nasty when I was a kid; everything was coated with gritty cheese. and you could roll the insides of the bread rolls into bouncy balls. Schools don't make anything fresh anymore. The kitchen is a big re-heating facility with no means of cooking anything. The unicycle team does a big gumbo feed each year for a fundraiser, and anyone cooking is given the recipes to cook it at home, then bring it all back and dump it into a big pot to serve.

Well since I didn't read ahead before answering somebody has probably already done it but here it is. Basically a chicken show is many chickens and maybe some of those things that quack on display while the judges are doing thier job. This is supposed to be a big one since it is the western nationals for Silkies (I think that's right). There will also be vendors there and some guy with a bandana selling metal work (

).

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is the chance to meet and chat with several of the peeps from here !!!!!

The (main) show is Saturday April 16 in Stevenson, WA Hope to see ya there. and welcome here.

I am disappointed with the school lunches here. Fried cheese sticks, pizza, corn dogs, all junk. This teaches kids a lifetime of eating habits and it tells them its okay to subsist off of low quality cheap junk food.

I dont know if the max gro has niacin in it. It may very well but I dont know. Have to ask Scott I guess.

Anyone know of anyone with a laying bantam hen they want to get rid of?

I usually say "Life's a B-T-- , but so am I!" Guess that won't work for you.

Back in my days of being gainfully employed, there was a big molecular biology conference and we all came back with the "e coli happens" mugs they were handing out (e-coli is frequently used in genetic research). The timing could not have been worse - the same week we returned to Seattle from the conference, local people were dying from e coli tainted burgers being served at Jack in the Box (in 1993 I think). Those mugs which were so funny when we got them just looked so callous with the e-coli outbreak in the news.

T-Hi - Good News! Hopefully it is just a little bug that can be easily knocked out.

Rainwolf and DIY - Thanks for the responses! I'll give Scott a call.

So are there any chicken shows in the summer? I like the RV/camp thing.
