Washingtonians

Hi everyone!

I just recently moved to the Washougal/Skamania County area, bought 5 acres, and now that moving in dust has settled I made the jump into hatching some chicks.

You can read about my first successful hatch here https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5994812

I
now have 10 light sussex chicks peeping away happily in the broader.

So I just wanted to introduce myself, and say hello to my fellow Washingtonians!

I have not see the "redneck" plucker....I am almost afraid to see it.

You made it. I will give you one more congratulations on the hatch.

I have 6 Light Sussex eggs under 3 broodies. I need to candle the eggs and see if I have any development yet.

11 years ago my family and I lived down in your neck of the woods. We loved that area of Washington. We add a house at the ase of Livingston Mountain.

Oh and I made it home without any problems. I did have to buy gas. It has been a month since I bought gas last. Oh my this tank cost me way more than the last time I bought it.

I think its a great idea, but think we should just make one.. What do you think?

DH has looked into it, but the fact is, if enough of us go in, it will be cheap.
If I make one, what will you do?
You gonna make one too?
Is everyone going to make their own?
If I make one you want to borrow it ?

Exactly why I thought she should contact pips&peeps who happens to have one for sale for WAY less money!

... you guys told me all this a day too late. its already ordered. i plan on ordering eggs from people on here from this state but there are a *few* breeds i would like that i do not hear about on here.
i had looked online everywhere for a used one and could only find older new models that cost more... so i tried. and i wasn't sure how reliable ebay was for getting good eggs.

I'm very happy with my birds from MPC .... shipping price was horrendous, but the post office called me at 6am to come pick up "the noisy package" (I only ordered 6 birds.) The birds are all healthy and good, reliable layers. I discovered BYC after I got my chicks, so now I try and buy local.
