OMG That is sooo cute!
I had a Barred Rock hen (out of a flock of 25) that insisted she lay her egg daily, in my washing machine!
She would flip out, pacing back & forth & fly up on the lid and scream at me if the lid was down.
She would get in the washer tub then, nice & quiet, and lay her giant egg!
The garage door and the washing machine lid always had to be opened, daily, just for her.
We called her "May" after Maytage..

I had forgotten about that.
I am glad she never went broody in my washer

Birds are so funny with where they choose to lay! I have a layer that always lays in the goose feeder (a pig feeder). There are times I have to rustle through the feed searching for her egg. Good thing they are very hard shelled.

Keep up the good effort!!!!!! You can do it!!!!!!
When my grandpa quit, he kept his shirt pocket full of star bright mints. Every time his hands got restless, he would pop a mint into his mouth! He was able to quit for good that way!!Best wishes for your success!!!

Woo Hoo for you!!!!!! Isn't it just so much fun!!!!

Yes I have to say it is! Now I need to figure out what I'm gonna hatch next! Maby some quail? Or maby a different line of Wheaton/BW Ameraucanas to try and finish off my breeder flock. OR!?? Any sudgestions? lol What breeds make a good dual purpose? I plan on processing a bunch of cockerals, and selling most of the pullets this summer.
Theres nothing better than farm fresh eggs and meat! Its going to be quite the adventure for me this year! Ive never processed a chicken before. I know how to do it, but have never done it.

IMO even ebay is more reliable and CHEAPER than MPC. If you can, support your WA or PNW breeders.

less they travel, typically better results.

Exactly why I thought she should contact pips&peeps who happens to have one for sale for WAY less money!

I was talking about the eggs

Ive got Dum Dums! They help a bit, but I cant afford to keep buying more. lol Yarn and knitting needles last SO much longer! lol The antsyness from idle hands only lasts a little while thankfully! Im getting there! Im just sick and tired of always feeling sick and tired! Plus Cigarets are expensive! And I would much rather put that $8 a day torwards my critters rather than something that is slowly killing me over time.

Im gonna do it even if my husband doesn't!

Quitting smoking was very hard for me. Drink lots of water and stay busy is what I did. Also i just quit telling people I was quitting because theyd say how they quit and then Id start thinking about it and want to go back lol. I also was in good shape so Id take off and go run or jog till I got it out of me. Eventually I got used to not smoking and I dont think about it now. Its been years.

I found that eggs on ebay have an overall low hatching rate as compared to people that actually breed (aside from teh good breeders that also sell on ebay). Make sure wherever you buy hatchign eggs from is an experienced breedera nd not just a backyard flock that is going to throw an omelet together at your expense in a Priority Mail carton. MPC is expensive looking as well.
