Hi everyone, I found my way here thanks to a couple of friends that said to follow the "Washington Thread". Now that I know this thread, it's not quite so overwhelming! If I get some time, I will look at how to post some pics. I'm so envious of those with both good computer skills and the time to fiddle with it!

I can't wait for the Stevenson show, my entry is already in and if you know me, that never happens. Double entry fee for late entries was good incentive. I promised Marjorie I would bring 10 silkies for the national so I have them entered, none spectacular, but they'll be there! A couple of them are white showgirls and I hope someone else is showing the showgirls as well. Sounds like we will have a good turnout of silkies. Now that I'm a Marans club member I figured I should get some input on mine so am showing 2 of them as well as 3 large fowl cochins and the usual array of bantam cochins and frizzles. I bravely entered a pair of Sebastapols as this time of year they look pretty ratty, but if the male can leave the females head alone......

I finally have fertile Sebastapol eggs in the incubator, some from a lovely pair I got from Jean Ribbeck (thanks Jean if you read this!) and may have a few goslings for sale by then. I had a good hatch of Black copper marans chicks that I will probably bring and am trying to find something to donate for the breeders auction.

I didn't have a chance to meet many at the Monroe, show, will there be a table in Stevenson?

Thanks for the welcome!
Sheryl

Sheryl, Jean and I will have the Ameraucana and Faverolles club table(s) in the sale area, and I THINK that's where the BYC folks are going to hang out since space is so limited this time.

I bought 2 black frizzled pullets from you at Chehalis, and one of my 4Hers is going to be showing them at Stevenson. Another one of my 4Hers is getting some pullets I picked up from Doddie, 2 smooth blacks and a black frizzle. They're SO excited!!!

Hi glad to see you on here!

I was the girl that bought 4 marans chicks from you at the Monroe show. (i'm back at WSU already) Mom says they are growing like weeds. i will be going home this weekend and maybe i can then tell their sex. i'm not able to go to the show... but then i do not really own any adult chickens that are *show quality. the rest are all hatchery.

SO.....if anybody "needs" lol a large fowl Lavender Ameraucana roo....I got an extra!!

He will be a year old next month (bought him as a day old chick from Jean at the Stevenson show last April).

I was going to post a pic of him, but the uploads seem to be all messed up right now....

Well, He will help more when the weather is 'acceptable'. I think he has that depression where you need sun but doesn't do anything about it. And he needs to have his shoulder replaced and the Oxy doesn't touch the pain anymore so after working all day he pretty much doesn't want to move. He is able to do stuff but the weather doesn't sit well with him. Everytime I walk in the house and he is still in the same spot I want to scream. I should be more tolerant and empathetic but I've dealt with his health issues for 12 years now and it wears me out. Besides, everytime I try to be helpful he gets mad but him living with all his health issues is hard for him too. I'm not the one in pain and getting stuck with needles all the time. Oh well, you know what they say, in SICKNESS and in health.

Vitamin D and a light box may help.

I bought him some Vit D but he doesn't take it and I know he wouldn't bother with a light box. Wondering if they sell UV light bulbs for lamps ? I could put it in the lamp he sits next to.

I ordered some black coleus the other day. Also some purple coleus. They are seed. I let my in vitro culture grow too long before I split it up and lost the last ones.

Also got some lime green foliage ones.

I was looking for other platns to start but I dont know what else is popular here. What do you all keep as ornamentals indoors or even outside?

UV light is not a good thing.
What about putting lots of florescent bulbs everywhere so the house is bright bright.
