It is amazing how some days this thread has 10 posts in 24 hours, and some days (like today) it takes off at 10 posts+ per hour...I miss an hour and there is even more...a full time job just trying to keep up, hard on an old lady.
I want some of the stuff Zgoatlady has...........(like when Harry met Sally) I'll have what she's having!

Now I got my Post Master to drop off the mail, so I did not have to drive the ratmobile to town, but DH's check is in there and he asked me to deposit it,

I did the same thing minus the turners for my lockdown incubator...just built the cabinet, and bought the gQf brooder element/wafer complete (replacement part), and screwed it on the top...works super fantastic.

Hey Chickielady, that is not a splash ameraucana...... sorry.

Think is is an OE ? I have both in the incubator...Blue Copper hen X Blue Am ameraucana and got alot of blue, black & splash babies.
Some I have a hard time telling the OEs from the Ams until the very end when the OEs comb perks up just a tiny bit higher...
It has to be one or the other, there was no other hatched in that group but those OEs and pure Blue Ams.
I love that baby she is so colorful!

I am not familiar with your other breeds, but as far as color recognition, a splash usually is a yellowy or whiteish bird with grey and blue flecks.

Unless your camera color is off, the chick appears to have black splashes of feathers. Splash is sort of a diluted form of blue and would not contain any black feathers.

Are the OE's of mixed varieties???

ETA: Go check it's comb.

on this rain. good golly I am tired of it. I am really really glad my white cochins are in a hutch in prep for the show. I felt bad when I first put them in there.. i hate having my chickens off the ground.. but as I am splashing through the chicken yard that has completely gotten covered in water and muck (duck heaven).. I am so glad. lol~the cochins were so nice and clean after the Monroe show, I thought--heeey--put those hutches to use! lol!

Anyone over on the west side interested in a pair of sebbies? (or the east side) I can bring them to Stevenson. They aren't show quality, but aren't bad pet quality either, in between.

I would let them go for $100.00 for the pair.

Let me know, I'm cutting back on all the birds. Got rid of 35+ birds this weekend.

Why don't you bring me a female and then sell the extra male at the show?

Thanks! Yeah I can still wear some baggy sweatshirts or a big down coat and just look a little chubby, LOL Once it gets above 60 degrees out, it will be harder to hide.
